Cobra Kits
I have always used this site because I like building Ford 351w strokers, but after being here for some time and seeing these cobra's everyday I am starting to become attracted to the cobra body style.
My question is are there any Cobra Kits that can be bought at a good price? What kind of frame do they use. I have access to a Full body shop and would like a few pointers on building a cobra kit car without breaking the wallet. I am new the cobra body style and chassis and curious to know whats involved in putting one together for parts and costs, other then the Motor and trans.
I hope this is the right place for this question
thanks
Ben

Check out the factory five site. Another choice is to wait for a partially built kit .

Most Cobra manufacturers makes their own frame and body. The cost will depend on what you want to spend. You can get a kit that you do complete assembly, or get a roller that only needs motor and trans dropped in.
Factory Five is probably the largest Cobra replica manufacturer out there. They were originally built on the concept of a donor '87-'93 Mustang, where you can use the motor, trans, dash, wheels, etc... and put it onto their tube frame and body (and other parts). Very cost effective and tons of fun. You don't have to use the donor Mustang if you don't want to, but you can. I have a Factory Five and couldn't be happier. You might want to check out www.FFCobra.com, which is a forum devoted to Factory Five. Or www.factoryfive.com But there are LOTS of kits out there. Even though I'm a firm believer in Factory Five (FFR), and would recommend to anyone to buy one, don't limit yourself. Check out a bunch of them, and decide for yourself. You'll come back to FFR.

Depends on what you consider a good price. There are kits available that range from $10K to $75K.

Kits are available that use ladder frames, space frames, semi-monocoque, and backbone frames.
Here's a neat website that has a map of most of the Cobra kit manufacturers in North America: Cobra Map.

Thanks guys,
This gives me somewhere to start. I found the Factory five site. They have many options for building one.

Try Hunters Kit cars. Nice kit at a good price.

Plus it is not far from you so you can drive down and save on shipping or just stop by Randy's place to see what he has to offer.
We used his kit to build our demo car and it has worked well for us. Check the pictures, if you are interested, I posted on this site.

Ben;
If I were you I would run up to Carlisle, PA on the May 21 weekend for the big Kit Car show. Carsatcarlisle.com for details. You won't regret it, and every builder worth his salt will be there.
