It’s almost here! The 25th annual “Fun Under the Sun” Knott’s Berry Farm replica car show, sponsored by the Association of Handcrafted Automobiles!
Let’s meet and caravan up together! Nothing beats a squadron of shiny Cobras zooming up the freeway together, a rainbow of color, with a roaring chorus of throaty basso profundo from the sidepipes! It’s an experience that can’t be beat!
We’ll meet at Mimi’s Café in Oceanside. Mimi’s is at 2177 Vista Way, just north of Highway 78 at the Jefferson Street ramp (the first exit east of the I-5). This is very convenient for the East County people coming in from Highway 78, as well as from the I-5 for those from the South County and the coastal areas. Mimi’s has lots of good Cobra parking, and easy off-on freeway access. They open for breakfast at 7:00 am, and the food has always been good.
We plan to depart from Mimi’s at 8:00 sharp. From Mimi’s to Knott’s is 66 miles, which in the light morning traffic will get us there right about 9:00 am for the start of the show.
Please join us for breakfast at Mimi’s at 7:00 am ! If you want to skip breakfast to sleep in a little more, please at least be there by 8:00 am to join the caravan to Knott’s.
If you have not already pre-registered for the Show, you can register on arrival at the gate until 10:00 am ($35 CASH for day-of-show registration). This show is open to replica and handcrafted cars of ALL types, even those still under construction, and it’s always a really fun time. They also allow “exotics”, so those of you that own “Original” Shelby cars are welcome, too, I believe—if anyone objects, you can always say it’s just a really accurate replica! For Show info, call Ron or Lou Anne at 909-796-9946
It will be sunny, so be sure to remember your hats and sunscreen (and cameras)!
Saturday evening, join us for dinner at Frisco’s Diner and for gocart racing after that! Please go to this thread for details, and to let Tim know if you are coming so that he can reserve enough space for everyone:
