Clois: That is exactly what I was thinking too, I would add the release from a sanitarium on the seat though in BIG letters.

I was talking to a "Soon-to-be-a-Cobra-owner" at a weekly Friday night get-together when this "Soon-to-be..." spits a nice stream of tobacco juice from his mouth!!! Repeatedly!!! Right between the cars!!! Granted, he missed the tires and cars themselves, but he spit with such force that there HAD to be splashes up onto the wheels!!! I had to be careful when I got into my car to leave, as to not step in any "chaw juice" puddles!!! UGH!!

True storey: Went to get a soda. Came back and found a women sitting on the door of my car while her "friend" was taking a her picture!

I went balistic. I yelled " What the @!#$% are you doing? Does that look like a park bench? Get the @!#^% off my car!"

Another true storey.

I've found driving it is more enjoyable than protecting it from morons and snot nosed pimple faced skate boarding, bike riding little delinquents at shows. I've cut down on the times I go to cruise nights also because of the same BS.

I like Jamo's idea of leaving an empty holster on the seat but I like the idea of shooting the freakin' miscreants even better. No...perhaps public whipping... flogging... flaying. Yeah, that's the ticket: flaying... Unfortunately, under my circumstances and in the town in which I live, I'm pretty much restricted as to what I can say to whom. So I'm better off to just avoid the situation. I try to park where I can see the car but far enough from other cars and avoid leaving it out of sight for too long.

Pouring the Coke on the car and sliding down the rollbar really takes the cake. "How would you like me to do that to your taxicab?" I'm not sure how much self control I'd be able to exercise under those circumstances so, again, I'd be better off just avoiding the whole mess.

I honestly think a large part of the problem is the "class envy" fostered by the previous political admistration over the space of eight years and still perpetuated by liberals. The have nots, the will nots, the do nots, the can nots, the do nothings, the don't give a sh!ts; in short all those categorized above as "mall trash" were and are encouraged to believe that those of us who have something they covet only obtained it by "unfair" means and have no more right to it than those who are unwilling to obtain it the old-fashioned way: to WORK for it. Since they're as "entitled" to it as anyone else, if they can't own it, they have the right to damage it to even the score. As Evan so succinctly put it: " "F" 'em. "

When people come up to admire my car from a discreet distance and behave as civilized members of society, I often invite them to sit in the car and even offer to take their picture in the car if they have a camera. When some toothless, braless, primered-Monte-Carlo-driving trailer park inhabitant yells out the window: "Hey! Whatyearizzat?", I ignore 'em. Fortunately I haven't had any ice cream dripped on the car or Coke poured on it or kids sliding down the rollbars or standing on the sidepipes. Again Evan nailed it:

Van de Graf generator. Static discharg that would knock them on thier head/butt (is there really a difference?). Excuse, would be that the fiberglass sure builds up a static charge when driving.

While I don't consider myself a sadist I must admit that I do take pleasure in seeing certain strangers walk up to my car and burn their ankles on the shiny chrome sidepipes. I used to tell people to be careful not to get too close, now I just let the car tell them.
p.s. only good in parking lots not in Malls...

Isnt it possible to walk up behind the lil' darlins with a two-pronged Taser, and ZAP 'em with 350,000 volts?

"Gee, lady, I dont know WHY your lil' rugrat/husband/significant lesser is writhing on the ground, with foamy spittle on its mouth!"

[under your breath] "but I am glad he's the phuck away from my car...!"

How about razor blades inside the fender lip for the feelers. But I must admit I also feel sometimes, too.

Unfortunatey, even what seem to be respectable car people will touch and wrap on your car IF you give them the chance to get close to it; kids are almost a given whether you are standing there or not.

Amen.

There is a small percentage of people who just "don't get it" and while they piss me off, I can't help but to forgive them later and say, "They just don't know any better." But then there's the group there just to see what the upper 1% (as they figure it) has, and they go around with a chip on their shoulder. To them, they are just as entitled to climb all over the car as we are to own them.

It kind of reminds me of every year at the Detroit Auto Show. I've been going to the show for 10 years now with my pops, and invariably, we'll be looking at the latest offering from one of the luxury marques, attempting to get a good idea of how comfortable the seats are, how much legroom is there, could I live with the gauges for 3 years?? Never do find out because there is some family of 9, father usually wearing a Dale Jarret t-shirt and a Pabst Blue Ribbon hat, mother wearing a tube top with no bra, kids clamoring to get their spit, snot, footprints, boogers, etc... all over the inside of the car.

At least at the auto show, everyone has a right to get in the cars, but it gets frustrating when a 6 year old spends 10 minutes behind the wheel of a new 5-series and (this has actually happened before) puts his face up to the window as I'm anxiously awaiting getting inside, sticks his tongue out, and smears his open mouth and tongue all over the window while puffing out his cheeks. No $hit. Actually, I think I just laughed that time... Of course that was before I had a Cobra. Now I could just imagine the same kid all over my car at a show.

"Hey kid, lick the sidepipes, they taste like Kool-Aid!"

A few of you have made the point that it is just the poor folks that act badly. I have found that idiots come from all classes in society. Some poorer people can be very polite and their kids well behaved. In some cases the worst kids come from wealthy families and do whatever they like since they are spoiled rotten.

On a slightly different topic. Last year I had my car parked at a restaurant where a bunch of car guys get together every Thursday night. Three well dressed middle aged "gentlemen" are walking around looking at the cars. As they get close to my Cobra, one of them states in a very proper fashion "Thats one of those kit car things". I must admit that I would let a little kid with a snotty nose sit in my car before that pompus ba$tard would.

I had a 200lb+ Woman leaning on my Cobra.
I asked her nicely if she could not lean on it.
She acted as if she wasn't doing anything wrong.
I think she doesn't know how "horizonally challenged" she really is!!!!!

Edited for ED

Default BIG woman

Rich A, . . . .

It is 2004! We are no longer allowed to call women "Big" or "Fat". They are to be refered to as "Horizontaly Challenged".

My 2 year old daughter is the worst. She loves my car. Its bright yellow and she loves to touch it with her sticky lollypop fingers....drives me nuts. BUT, I decided its easier to just not bring her to ANY car show...ever. She sees any shiny car and she thinks its hers immediately! It makes it very unenjoyable. So, I , just say no. I wish these other people would do the same.

Being poor has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with being considerate. In fact, I find the worst offenders are those that are/think they are rich as they have this “better then you attitude”. But, it’s really not a liberal/conservative thing. It’s not a Clinton/Bush thing. It’s a respect thing. I believe that if others don’t respect your property, you have the right to inform them of the corrective actions they need to take to do so, whether they are rich or poor.
