Rob - I went through the same anticipation and frustration. It will end.
We went through what seemed endless overcast, cool and dreary spring. Then, last weekend I awoke to a beautiful sunny warm day......nothing better than that first warm weather Cobra ride ...except I had to go to the DMV for the safety inspection, and they were closed.
Nonetheless, last Tuesday was awesome, and I drove over to the DMV and got my business done (very easy in NJ).
It was that next drive - back home, with everything legal, that was really awesome.
Good luck.....

Rob @ Luke,
You guys really make me jealous with how easy it is for you to get your cars registered. Here the price of the car is about 1/3rd more than what it takes to get it registerd and even now they are trying to stop that.
Rob,
Just make a tape of the car running and then sit in the garage and play the tape. Sounds more relastic and you can really pretend.

Rob,
Forecast for KC is rain until Sunday. Figure the rain will head your way, so maybe by Wednesday of next week you'll be dry.

Rob,
Good on you!!!
Cincinnati has been dreary since the glorious weekend and we've all had a slow, wet, chilly Spring.
BUT--we'll have our day, when the Southerners are boiling, we'll be driving. Hope to make it to one of the Ohio cobraphile meets one of these days....

Hi Ron:
Did not understand the line in your post,
"Here the price of the car is about 1/3rd more than what it takes to get it registered........" ??

I didn't understand that either. My cost to register was $228 for the DMV, $0 for the CHP, $0 for the BAR, and $149 for the brake & light certs. It was not the harrowing experience I had anticipated. Plus, I think my car is now worth a lot more with it's legal CA registration

Rob,
Good on you squared!
Regarding the brake pedal/accelerator pedal issue, I had the same problem. Mike Evangello at Dynamic Motorsports in Ross sandwitched on a second brake plate with a spacer in between. The whole thing was double bolted, so looking from the top it looks like a normal pedal; looking from the side you see the second pedal on top via the spacer. This is solid, correct for heel/toe, and doesn't sacrifice any strength. Perfect. Here's the url for pictures at shutterfly.
This was one of the first things I did to customize the SPF; the second was adjusting the seat so my butt was lower, otherwise I felt I was sliding forward. Dynamic did that also, though eventually I added the front seat spacer from Oltoff Racing to cock the seat back and make it more comfortable.
Enjoy!
