It's tough to plead poverty and ask for a raise when you're driving one of those cars...

You get several interruptions from people who want to "go to lunch" if you drive.
And
You have several people asking if it is yours and who hit it ( a joke you can not ignore and find yourself running out to check )
And
An email starts, from your boss, asking who owns the "sports car" and now you have to explain that you are not "moonlighting" at Fords ( you work at GM ) to afford a car of this type.
And
There is the comments of, "What's wrong with one of our cars? Huh? You couldn't own a GM???"
Last
"You can't park that here." from the security guard, so you have to walk from the "NON-GM car lot."
Just few.

For me setting off every car alarm is a reason to drive the Cobra to work and not a reason not to bring the car!
I NEVER get in a full day when the car is here.

I drove mine today, and parked it in the warehouse, because it was becoming too distracting to the road crew workers that are working out in front of our facility!!
Now I just have to worry about a stray forklift driver.......

Because your insurance policy expressly mentions not driving your Cobra to work (Parish-Heacock).
Good thing my employer occasionally has car shows!

I am the boss, I like setting car alarms off, and I like to take my employees out to the covered garage I had built for it in the otherwise open lot so they can tell me how freeking cool my car is.

Because it is freaking 104* yesterday and I would roast like a pig in a bbq in stop and go city driving. Otherwise, I can see it outside in the lot easy enough, had the car before I went to work here and the bosses love the car, don't give a rat's pahooty if I set off everyone elses alarm since they go off a couple times a day anyway.
Hmm, only one reason not to drive it to work. Guess I'll have to go around town.

For me,an average day at work consists of at least 200 to sometimes 300 miles of driving, that's the good, the bad is I make anywhere from 5 to 10 stops and at everyone I usually have people come out to the car and ask a bunch of questions and sometimes ask for a ride........
I don't really mind the questions or even taking someone for a ride (especailly the nice looking ladies),but on some occasions I'm running late and in a hurry and then I try to be as polite as possible and leave as soon as I can to get back on schedule............

... It messes up your hair and ... wait, I don't have that much hair!
How about, everyone wonders why you have that big grin on your face.
or
Your wife doesn't like that fact that you seem to come home later on the days that you drive your Cobra!

Because the grass monkeys (As my brother so aptly puts it!!) that cut the grass where you work might decide to use your car as a place to blow all of the leaves in the parking lot. Yes it happend. Bleeping Morons. No more driving to work on Mondays.

....because it is very dusty here at work, where I park my car. Even with the cover on the Cobra, dust gets everywhere.
Also, the boss is a Big GM fan; when I bring the Cobra to work, he doesnt talk to me for the whole shift...........Wait, that's a GOOD thing!!! lol !!!

Because I work right next to the district court, and lots of cops crawling around all day. How do I leave the parking lot quietly??

They don't do real well off of paved roads, ground clearance is an issue driving to a home building site, let alone the mud or dust

Because when I visit with people in their offices, they tend to move away or closer, depending on how much they like the hydrocarbon cologne. It's usually the men that get closer!
