Ron, thanks for your ideas. You're right, legislators don't respond until we hit them (figuratively) between the eyes with petitions, letters and phone calls. As for my friend, he unfortunately was caught up in the Titles Unlimited mess. He was honest too with how much he paid for the cars. He went through Titles Unlimited because his local DMV office here in So. Calif. actually told him they weren't going to register the car because it had no title (this before SB 100 passed). Consequently, he's too late for any of this year's SB100 numbers including the ones reserved for people with "problem registrations" from the past.

Any ideas who would be a good legislator to contact. I have'nt attempted that direction other than through one Senators staff. After the 7th maybe we can get on 20/20. That will be visibile.

Randy,
I think that's a great idea. I'm all for spreading the word.

My 2 cents: I think it would be very helpful to have the issue(s) condensed to a factual "position paper" that outlines the problem, the stakeholders, a desired outcome and the pro's and con's of the outcome. If legislative action is needed, many people presenting the same clear message is important. If the cause is noble (it is) and one of the results is significant revenue, I think it would be seriously considered.
Is it possible to reduce this issue to one page?; is someone with the knowledge and history willing to write it up? I'd be willing to talk to my Assemblyman with that information. Besides, he represents Modesto, CA, hometown of American Graffetti.
