Default Cool Replica

I just found this car for sale on e-bay. I was it at the Barrett-Jackson Florida auction last month and was impressed with the car. It is an amazingly tiny car and the owner stated that it was built to the exact dimentions of the original. Anyone seen one like this before?

Wow....the car sold for $41,000 plus sellers fee at BJ. As nice as it was, I just figured there was no room for profit in the car. The cr is fiberglass with aluminum accents. The e-bay add makes it sound as if it is an aluminum car.

Tim,
i didnt think that at all.
From the add:
"The "glass" body is the highest quality that we have seen and...."

seems pretty straight forward, no?

BTW, i am not involved in the sale of this car (just in case anyone thought otherwise )

The engine appears to be a 3.5 aluminum Rover V-8, actually quite rare nowadays. The ad also describes a Rover transmission.

Perhaps wilf leek could verify this?

Buyer fees were 8%, the total cost is $44,280 plus shipping. Coast to coast shipping would be about $1,500. If they were loading up a transport full of cars, it could be that they are in the car for about $45,000.
Personally, I would be scared to be in at that price and have to make a profit on the car. To get out of the car after owning it and having some fun is one thing.
That really nice aluminum slabside AC Cobra replica that was in Miami sold for $45,000. It was an AC created car in 1977 and very authentic. I had negoitated with the owner and was going to look at it when I was in Palm Beach, but it sold the week before.

"1953 Maserati A6GCS All Aluminum - Hand Crafted Recreation"

Yes, in one place it does say "glas", but in about 20 others it says "aluminum fender panels", "all aluminum", aluminum this, and aluminum that.

I thought it was aluminum, too. Thanks for bringing me back down to earth. I was beginning to get that old "Well, let's see, if I sell the 300ZX and the 325iC, and bought the wife some jewelry....." thing going again. Whew! That was close. I had a Maser for about 10 years, but wanted an A6G. What a cool car.

Nothing rare about a Rover 3.5 V8 in the UK. "entry level" cobra replica engine. Cheap as chips as standard, expensive to tune to any real BHP level over 250 - 300bhp, better off with a US small block. Light though. Had one and a Rover 5 spd 'box in my first Cobra, did well for it's capacity, and never any problems.
