Wide-hip body???
...any one out there know who makes a fiberglass replica body with what I think is called a 'wide-hip' configuration. On the style I'm looking for, there is no pronounced lip around the edge of the rear wheel opening and the leading edge of the opening doesn't start to taper into the body until just about the horizontal centerline of the wheel.
Thanks
TWM

wide hip car
the rear quarters on my Hunter car have no lip on them. You can see some pictures if you go to Hunters website. Do a search on Hunter Kit Cars and it will come up. Hope this was helpful.

The rear fender of my old LAExotics, now B & B, had the smooth body line (no flare) at the rear fender openings.

The Classic Roadster doesn't have the lip on the rear wheel opening. There is a picture in my gallery that might help.

Re: Wide- hip body
Thanks guys!!! I have only seen a few examples of the style I'm looking for, including a couple in some very old photos. Regardless, with your help, I'm chasing down the leads.
Let me know if I can return the favor.

Try John's Custom Fabricators in Coos Bay, OR, 541.888.9313. His cars have no lip, no gas cap 'dimple', and I think no side pipe cut out or hood scoop.

West Coast?
Not sure what your definition of wide hip is, but that certainly describes the West Coast body. See photos in my gallery, one of the rear tire that shows the wheel well and "hip".

With all of your help, I may have solved the delema - maybe.
The car that triggered this inquiry is a West Coast Cobra - not a wide-hip version of an original or an AC 289.
Thanks again for your input. I learn something new everytime I visit this site.
