Trailer Black Streaks
What is the best thing to use to remove the black streaks that show up on the sides of an enclosed trailer? I have tried all the so-called "Black Streak Cleaners" and they all suck. What works for you that doesn't destroy the paint or decals?

Yep. Wet it down, spray it w/Simple Green, scrub it w/a brush and then power wash it. Then wax the thing and wash it more often next time.
A garden sprayer for the Simple Green works best.
I found this all out the hard way...

Try Castrol "Super Clean". It's available at Wal Mart. Mark Atkins had similar problems and tried everything under the sun and found that this Castrol product is superb. Make sure the doors are open because it is pungent.

you might be surprised...
Nothing more than Pine-Sol diluted with water. It works excellent.
I broke down some of the "black streak" cleaners and the properties of the better performing ones came back to pine oil.
Pine-Sol happens to be the cheapest form of that in the strongest form, so be sure to dilute it.

Thanks for the ideas. With Martha Stewart out of the picture, looks like ClubCobra can fill her place.

Try a wet cloth with baking soda, I used to clean the back end of my white mustang with it and it worked great nothing else would do it.

Wash the trailer? Must be a Texas thing!
David, why don't you just move that thing out from under the trees? Or doesn't your "Park" allow ya'll to move your homes?

If you use the Super Clean from Wal-Mart, be careful and wear rubber gloves. I used it on my camper and it worked so well it started to peel my skin off, no kidding, took three days and alot of hand creme to clear up, the stuff is potent. You will definetly have to apply a coat of wax after, as it takes everything off.

Southernfriedbs, the highway overpass I sleep under doesn't have room to park both the Cobra and the trailer. So the trailer stays out. Are you through sanding on that freakin car yet?

David, go to a RV dealer and get the stuff for campers. These guys with motor homes go thru this every day. Works like a dream. It's only oxidation from alloy/gutters/rails/rivots that causes the streaks.
Bubba says, "If you have enough room to park a trailer inside, you must live in a two story mobile home!"

David, I thought this thread was about cleanin' your molile home??? If you wanna get O/T, it's your thread.
I'm giving up my quest to personally "Buckleyize" my car. If and when I ever get the d@mn thing back together, my first stop will be a body shop. Sanding an aluminum car ain't as easy as Pat made it look!
