As I suspected, there are ways to get the vintage look...sorta. But playing it safe is probably the safest way to avoid unnecessary problems with the CHP. I can live with my personal white and blue plate. But still no plate on the front of the car.
I'm just beyond the point where I need to beat the system.

I agree with MadMiles442
Maybe "SHY X TWO" OR "SHY SHY" (hush hush, eye to eye), make people think you are/were a "Kajagoogoo" fan from the '80's!!! lol !!!

However, in my experience, which includes more than a couple of interactions with the CHP, they only care that the tag matches the registration, and that the registration is current. It appears as though the state of CA is only concerned that you keep sending your registration money. Having said that, this is only an opinion formed from my personal experience.

I am just trying to help keep people out of trouble I know DMV will not let you transfer the old black and yellow plates.

plates
Hey everyone
I know this may be a bit boring compared to many but here in Alberta, Canada there aren't too many cobra's and many people ask what's that so I got plates that say " A COBRA " That should explain it.
