I am 57 and enjoying retired life, even though it was a medical retirement. It still doesn't keep me out of my "little" car.

I'm 38 and like most here, had a fascination with the cobra since i was a kid. As i got older and learned of the history, the Daytona Coupe was the one for me. So, after years of fooling with a '66 Fairlane and having a saltwater fishing boat, it was time to finally move on to my dream car. I'll be picking up my coupe in the next couple of weeks and am looking forward to putting it together. My ultimate plan would be to build an FIA 289 roadster and a GT-40 to compliment the coupe. Then i can die in peace!!

Mine is a little long, but here is the whole story of how I came to building a CObra. I'm 33, but I've wanted one since I was about 8. My Dad has always been into cars. He started dragging me to car shows around that age and he started a complete ground up restoration on a 56 ford victoria when I was around 12 and he completed it when I was about 18. When I was about 22-23 he started a complete ground up restoration on a 61 Galaxie 500 convertible which was completed about 5 years ago. He still owns both. I know he would like to do another, but he's busy with other hobbies right now. When my brother was about 14 he decided he was going to restore a 1928 Model A at the same time my Dad was restoring the 56. Most guys in my Dad's car club laughed and blew him off. Well, by the time he graduated high school he had completed a complete ground up restoration on that Model A, he even painted it himself, which he still owns, he is now 34. His latest project was a complete restoration on a 1951 home built ski boat. He also owns a mint unrestored 289 67 Mustang. Growing up I had a couple late model Mustangs, but I was more into racing than building. Of course the whole building thing was now instilled in my blood so I had to follow suit. I had been talking about building a kit for several years, but being the conservative that I am, I just couldn't see spending my money on something that seemed frivolous. Well my 30th B-day rolled around and my wife decided to order one for me for my B-day. She tried hard on her own to get it ordered without my knowledge, but there were too many options, so she caved and had to let me in on her little secret. I was so excited we went ahead and bought a Factory Five kit. A couple months later the kit had arrived and was sitting in my garage, but I still hadn't told my Dad. We had recently moved into our new house and my Dad had bought me some floor paint for the garage. We invited my parents over for a little cook out and I said hey, you guys want to see how the floor turned out? We walked outside and you should have seen my Dads face when I opened the door, he was so excited and couldn't believe I had finally joined him and my brother with such a project. Within a year I had the car on the street minus paint and it was another year later before I was able to get it painted, but it's a blast and we have quite a little collection between the 3 of us. So that's my story. Rob

Iam 59 going on 60.(Retired) I like to ease out on to my street, get it straight and then nail it. My neighbors must have thoughts, but never say any thing. (The big kid.) I never speed.

I fell for the Cobra when I was a teenager during the 70's. I had an MGB in the late 70's and never lost that love of open top driving. The MGB rarely had the roof on more than 2-3 weeks/year and it was my daily driver. I used the roof so little it stayed in a closet in the house instead of the trunk. Started researching replicas when I found a couple on Ebay in 2004, when I was 49, ordered my ERA in Sept 2005, and expect delivery either this month or next. I expect to keep the Cobra roof in the same place the MGB roof resided. Presently 51 years old.

I'm 33 w/ 3 girls. 4-1/2, 3, and 4 months. Bought it in January from a guy that was having his first child. He figured he wouldn't have enough time to enjoy it. My wife didn't enjoy hearing his reason for selling.

I've already put about as many mile as the previous two owners did in 7 years. It really had to be bought to keep me from drowning in the estrogen, kind of like a life preserver.

I'm 48 and started building my Cobra in 2002, should have it done by spring. I wanted to build a Cobra for 20 years or so but had to wait until the kids were grown & out of the house.

It's my time now!!

I'm 63 and about to take delivery on SPF 2457. The first 427SC I saw was when I lived in Manhattan Beach, CA in mid 60's. Dick Smothers (Smothers Bros) had one and we all hung around his place on Saturday morns to hear him crank it. In 1969, I bought a 61 AC ACE but sold it when I got married 6 mos later. (Wish I'd kept it!)

i'm 50 . I loved going to the races at laguna seca in the sixties and watching the cobras and corvettes ,mustangs and cuda's, mini's and alfa's battle.the feel of the ground pounding as the big blocks drove by still gives me the chills. Now i have my own ground pounder,it gives me that the same feeling.Peter.

44 here, and just got my first one. I could not have afforded it until now. I would have had one at 20 if I could have afforded it. Of course I'd probably have been dead by 21.

I'll be 42 in 1 hour & 30 minutes. I work about 100+ hours a week and mess with my Cobra on Sunday while I watch my 4 & 6 year old boys (the wife has to get out of the house on Sunday so she doesn't go kid crazy). I don't know If I'll be able to drive it much, but I like to work on it in my garage and ocassionally just go out and look at it.
