43, but my wife says I don't look a day over 40. My doctor asked how I look so young and have the EKG of a 20 year old, and I said it's a steady diet of beer, smoking, and driving the cobra fast enough to make my ears bleed.

Just turned 38.

I've liked Cobras since I was a kid, they've always been one of
my favorites. Over the years I've had
a few muscle cars, a couple of Porsches, an unimpressive
Ferrari, and a few other so-called performance cars.
I don't like the idea anymore of buying expensive cars that lose value. I've also enjoyed restoring a few cars so the next step
is to build my own car, a Cobra.
Thinking seriously about a Coupe but in the end will probably go with a roadster.

Default Let's see on March 12, I turned 58....so.......

...that makes my "average age" 29, right? Some guy saw me emerging from the bright red Butler and asked sneeringly if it were my "mid-life crisis mobile". I retorted: "Yup, that's it, all right. That means I'll come and picnic (or some other p-word) on your grave when I'm......let's see......116?" He walked away. A smart ass is still an ass, right?

Fred,
Happy b-day. You mentioned your red Butler - get some pic in your galary! I want to see, I want to see.

It's funny how some people are so quick to judge when they see you in your car ("is it real", "mid-life crisis", etc.). I have found though, that most people are very nice and curious about what I am driving. The other a$$holes are just envious IMHO.

Default Well........from the Olde Cape Codde Pharte...tanks to bothyuz

Roy,
What connects me 'n you is Ron's cah. His red one is now mine and a close twin of your'n. You following this? No? Put that beer down, Roy!...it's only 1:10 out theah! To aswer your requests---yes, I will post, as soon's I get some good shots and learn how to post 'em properly (Coco the GOrilla is eons ahead of me on kompootah!) Oddly enough, I was trying to call you last summer when I was out exploring the coast with my neice and her little minkey (see Gallery, my sister helped me). Recommenced the search for 65Blur when I came out to Fresno to pick up Ron's car! One o' these days, lad!

Meanwhile, I am planning/trying to attend Ed Cobs' big show in Clumbs, Ohah this June. Are you going? Lots of Californians show up, according to Ed. I want to see Ron (Jamo's) silver Kirkham! Finally, I may have a shot at a real cheap Butler MGB coil-over assemblage. I'll search for you. E-mail me.

Best to yuz both,

Fred, Fred , Fred.
I do remember communicating with you regarding your search for a Butler, your trip out west, MBG suspension. I just needed more beer to jog my memory

So you are the Fred in Ron's gallary - now it all makes since. You really did want a Butler, to come all the way out here. You look very pleased and not a day over 55

I am still hunting for the MGB upgrade. Got a line on one from Hawk Motors www.hawkcars.co.uk in the UK. The Moss unit is D/C'ed. If you find out anything, please let me know.

Thanks,

Roy

I am 25 and have wanted one since I was 20. I remember the first time I saw a Cobra, I knew I had to have one. But college and a wedding and now a house keep putting it off. Hopefully this fall I will be ordering my kit! My wife is just as excited as I am. She wants to have a baby now, I told her so do I but mine will be blue will white stripes. hahahaha

The trick is getting the Cobra BEFORE you get married. Then it gets 'grandfathered' into the whole arrangement...

I wanted a Cobra since I was about 12 years old when I first laid eyes on one at a vintage British car show with my father. Later, my friends and I would ride our bicycles to the next town over and watch them assemble replicas (I think the company was called 'Contemporary Cobras' or 'Classic Cobras' - something like that).

I'm still one of, if not the youngest Cobra owner at most meets. At least I can say I have wanted one for 20 years!!

I'm 47 and finally figured out what is missing in my life! A Cobra built by me.

My kids? They'll get to college, but they may be ridin' the bus.

My (wonderful) wife? I'm still working on that one...

Default still crazy after all these years

I'm 52 and I first saw an original 427 in 1973. Also I felt in love at first sight, I couldn't afford it, still beeing a student, so years went by, and I almost forgot about it. Then, in the mid 90's, another cobra drove by, and it was like an electrical shock. It took another 5 years, when I discovered a KCC (southafrican made) which was a bargain at 24.000 Euro, and bought it.
Best thing about it: its fully supported by my wife.
With this car, you feel ageless; I enjoy it as I would have when I was 20 (or even more), the sound, the brutal force, the wind in your hair on a sunny day - never wanna grow up, still in love like the 1. day.

OK, I'm 37 and when the love of my life dumped me this past Feb, I decided a Cobra was better therapy than any shrink out there!!

I've wanted a Cobra since I was in grade school and now in a few short weeks my Superfomance will be on the road!! Now if I can only act like I'm 37 when I'm driving it!!!!!!!!!!

Default AGE

Hi everyone,

I am 42 years old and I have finally purchased my first Cobra. Like many others that have replied to this post, I to have had to take that long journey through raising children and finally convincing my better half that it was about time. Ever since I saw Gumball Rally in the mid 70's I have longed for this beast of a car. I can personally say that I have never wanted another vehicle more than this, except perhaps an Aston Martin DB5. It has taken me over 27 years since Gumball to realize this dream. It should arrive any day.....just one question for all of you....will reality live up to the dream?

I am 56 years old and I have been wanting one since I saw one on the Show Room floor at Crown Ford in Nashville, TN. This had to be 1964-65 before I went into the Service. So last year I quit putting it off and built it, just finished in time for SAAC 28. BACK IN NASHVILLE.
