I am 34 presently. I was on the road (unpainted) October 1999 at 29 hears old. I was obsessed over cobra's all throughout college and ever since my dad read me my first Cobra article in Hotrod at age 12.

My goal was to save up enough money after college and before women and family became an expense. I saved up $45,000 working overtime and never doing anything else during my first year out of school. That paid for half the car, (custom projects can get way out of hand) I ran up the credit for the rest and have just paid the last check for project Cobratech this week.

I think I was about 13 when I saw a Kit Car mag In my older Bros room . There was an article on Contemporary Cobras...i instantly fell in love. I remember carrying around a picture of one in my wallet from the very same mag......untill it just fell apart. The cobra seemed like an impossible dream...That was almost 20 years ago. In May 2004 The dream was realized ......i purchased Contemporary CCX -3318 from an engineer in Chicago. He did a wonderful job building her and I have been in love with her ever since ....I am 32

I've wanted one for twenty years. I'm 37 and just couldn't wait any longer. I started helping my older brother work on his cars at age 11. then started helping a Neighborhood Ford man work on his cars. All FE engines. Built my own 427 car in high school. A 63 1/2 Galaxie 500 XL. Pulled the 352 and dropped in a 427 top oiler 2x4v C6 and 411 gears. Took care of those Comeros and firebirds around our way. So I always thought of what it would be like to have that engine in a car half the weight of the Galaxie. So here I am just ordered a Unique 427 kit and a 427 s/o medium riser 2x4v. I will take delivery of my Cobra and my engine and trans at Carlisle this April. Cobras are a family affair. My boys are 10 & 12 and I guess I'll be passing the love of cars on to them.

Question

Terry,

How can I be 3 years younger than you when I was 65 on December 23rd???

Fred,

You aren't allowed to try and average your age until you reach 65. Anything below that is to young.

Ron

50 years young here. Got my first glimpse of a real aluminum bodied one when I was 12. It was love at first sight :-).

Like most of the other posters here it has taken me this long to raise my child and get enough spare cash and time to spend it on a fantastic hobby of building and owning one. I'll be taking the plunge on my first one within the next 6 months.

I am 49, and getting my first cobra next week! I first saw a kit in the summer of 1977 in northern Wisconsin and I will never forget it. My plan is to ride and ride some more.
