Now even I'm confused..
Jamo - Bob
Sorry guys a bit late when I "Posted"
Bit like.....
alumiium v. aluminum
boot .v. trunk etc.
color.v.colour etc.
.. least that's what I mean - or do I
Think I'll sneak off and have a quite beer... ..and Pi$$ed means being drunk down here..
Cheers
Bernie

I’d like to take the suggestion of escorting the delivery truck with Dwayne’s car on it the last mile or so from Port Orford to Dwayne’s house and work on it.
I’m linked with the Northwest Factory Five group and would like to see if any of the NWCC members would be interested.
There are a huge number of things that would have to be coordinated for this to happen and it looks like it may be on an extremely short time line.
Most important will be finding out what the ETA of the car is and what routing it’s taking to get to Port Orford.
I spoke with SAI this morning but the individual who has the delivery information is out of the office and won’t be back until tomorrow. I’ll be calling them again tomorrow morning. The individual I spoke with didn’t feel that it would be a problem.
If this thing happens at all it will probably happen very quickly and may be beyond my capabilities to put it together but I’ll give it a try.
My basic idea is to have anyone participating meet in a central location in Port Orford and pick up the truck carrying the car and travel with it from whatever location is chosen to Dwayne’s home. My mapping program shows him a little way out of town but no more than a mile.
Getting to Port Orford from the Portland area is about a 5 hour trip given routing and roads. Convoying from the Portland area would be a reasonable way to go but, again, schedules, times and dates will have a major impact.
This is all pie-in-the-sky thinking right now but let’s see what develops.

Today is the 13th. Wasn't delivery promised on the 15th? Not much time left for them to get it done.

***UPDATE***
Dwayne got home yesterday. He has lost a lot of weight and looks a bit hollow. He is glad to be out of the clinic but, saysd the Mayo is a great place for care.
He car will be done Saturday and then CS & SAI are having it delivered to his house.
He told me to thank all of you for the support, prayers, cards and gifts. He got several 1:18 scale cars which he thought was awesome!!
Thanks Again - HOGDEALER (Danny)

Danny, that's great news. Do you think Dwayne is going to be able to drive his car, or will it just be riding as a passenger at this point?

Saturday of what year? Did you get them to be specific?
Kidding aside: that's great news. And the "rolling thunder" Cobra escort sounds great too if you guys out there can pull it off! Way to go-

It's DONE!!!
Just got a call from Greg Sellards, of the Texas bunch. Dewaynes car is DONE! They started up for him and was in the process of installing the headlight trim rings and a few odds and ends. Greg said the car looked and sounded AWESOME. Complete pictures and all we be posted as soon as Greg returns home. The plan was to shake down the car today and tomorrow and head for Dewayne's Saturday morning.
Hang on Dewayne....it is coming!

Gary and Danny:
Fantastic news.
Given the tentative schedule that would put Dwayne's car in his hands Sunday evening or Monday.
I'll continue to try to put something together from this end. It will depend on being able to get an estimate of the delivery schedule from SAI and the people here in Oregon. Weather and schedules will be a major factor but I'll continue to try. If the arrival is no later than Monday I know I'll be able to make it.

Kudos and applause to the people that worked night and day to finish the job!
May God have mercy on the soul(s) that made it get so ugly and unfair. Otherwise, Satan has some new cell mates on the way.
And continued prayers for Dwayne and his family during this very difficult time in their lives.

If you guys in the NW could put something together, that would be awsome. In fact, it's a good idea to have a bunch of Cobra owners there not only for showing support for Dwayne but also to give Dwayne and Danny some pointers on driving these high HP - 90 inch wheelbase rockets. They just have to remember that it's NOT a Viper and it doesn't handle like one either!
Sure is excellent news hearing Dwayne is finally going to get his car. If there's a cure for cancer, owning and driving a Cobra could be it! Sure would love to see the smile on his face when he jumps in for the first time.
You guys that are going to be there.................don't forget to bring your camera's!!!
Prayer's are with you Dwayne.
Danny, thanks for keeping us informed all this time. You put up a good fight for your friend and you got the ball rolling. Who knows how long Dwayne would have been waiting for his car if it weren't for your efforts.

Hi everyone! I've been a lurker here for a month or two and usually can be found at the two Viper related sites http://www.Viperclub.org and http://www.ViperAlley.com which is where I heard of your forum from Denny aka HogDealer. I gotta say it again, over there on the Viper sites we regard you guys as having V-8s under the hood but V-10 sized Hearts for your abilities to get things done for Dwayne and His Cobra. You guys are terrific!
I wanted to suggest when you parade the delivery truck to drop of the car to Dwayne that you consider contacting media outlets like the local media (Can you imagine how awesome and what an impressive display of Cars this could be?)
or
Contact the local paper for a writeup.
or
Contact SpeedChannel and see what comes back.
or
Contact Carroll Shelby himself to be there for the delivery!
Just a few ideas for an amazing group of people that you all are.
Cheers,
Jay K.
