With the Gallery problem now fixed, I uploaded a set of Greg's pictures to HOGDEALER's gallery, as well.

Without rereading all 49 pages ,Can someone distill the coarse that this subject went ?Who did what and who gets credit and blame. Why did these powers have to be called into play? Why didn't it go as usual? Is the problem fixed?

I could explain it to you, but it would take 49 pages.

Seriously though, there was a LOT to this situation, I suggest you just pull up a chair and start reading.

Michael: I hate to say this but you really have to read all 49 pages to get the true "feel" for what happened and what is taking place now.
I'm afraid trying to narrow this story down to a few sentences would be like trying to explain War and Peace in a couple paragraphs. Too much has happened and and there's plenty of villians and hero's to go around.

Sure is good to see that the car is on its way!

Mike -

Reading every one of the posts on this would truly be a waste of time so I will attempt to do ask you asked....

A friend of Dwaynes (Hogdealer) appealed for assistance to some members of Club Cobra via email for help in getting his very sick friends CSX 4000 car done as, among other things, he was concerned that Dwayne might not live long enough to see his dream car completed.

The car was ordered 26 months ago from Roy Hunt at Finish Line in Las Vegas NV, a Shelby Dealer - Dwayne was lied to by them repeatedly regarding when it would be done.

Club Cobra members responded in a number of ways - some contacted Carroll Shelby and Brent Fenimore and got a commitment from them to put the screws to Roy Hunt at Finishline.

The car was finally promised on January 15th 2005 and was actually done on that date. Shelby Automobiles is dropping the car off at Dwaynes place of residence tomorrow.

I suspect that the only good that has come out of this whole saga is that perhaps it has opened some peoples eyes to the fact that they should not be blinded by promises and dreams...

Nice summation Pat! Personally I think it is time to close this thread and start a new one with the Title, "Look at the picture of Dwayne in his COBRA"!!

Gentlemen,
It is far from over.

I look forward to hearing Dwaynes response to seeing his car. His first trip around the block and much more. He has not even gotten the car yet.

I am really glad Dwayne is getting his car. I am sure it will be everything he wanted and has dreamed of it being.

I am also looking forward to the day when the rest of the good people waiting patiently for their cars can enjoy the same experience.

Hi guys,

Said it before and will again...

Well done to every one who has been involved.

Obviously, the behind scene phone calls and commitment from CS that Larry B. received, has shown real determination and desire to see Dwaynne in his Cobra.

The .."this will happen, even if I take it and do it myself.." approach, has sent the right message to those who have made untold promises to Dwayne.

A group of like minded people with a desire to help a fellow enthusiast.....that's what this has been about.

..again well done all. It would be good to let Dwayne know even the Aussie's were behind him 100%..

Cheers

Bernie

Well today should be the big day for Dwayne. Keep us posted and some pictures of when the car arrives and Dwayne first sees it would be great. I have my fingers crossed.

Spoke to Ted at SAI yesterday morning and he indicated that the car was about ready to ship. He had just gotten in so didn't have any real particulars. I didn't hear from him the rest of the day so not sure what state it's in but let's hope the got it loaded and out of Las Vegas yesterday.
I'll be calling them back this morning to try to get an update and will post as soon as I speak with them.

Just got off the phone with SAI truck driver. He will be in Oregon tonight and will reach Dwayne's house tomorrow. DonC is driving his Cobra down from Portland and will escort the car to Dwayne's House.

Thanks Again To All of You!!

Thumbs up

That is great news. Looking forward to pictures of Dwayne when his car arrives. He must be really starting to get excited about now. I doubt if I would sleep at all tonight if I were in his place.

Question

Latest news please? Is the car home yet or do you have a time frame for when it will arrive? Hope the weather there is nice. We have been fogged in here the last two days and nights. The fog is supposed to move out this evening. Weather map looked as if Oregon may not have it thought.

***UPDATE***

Dwayne got his car today!!!!!

Ted from SAI drove the Renegade Show Truck to Dwayne's house. DonC from the Pacific Northwest Cobra Club drove down from Portland and escorted the car and truck to Dwaynes house. We brought the Custom Harley we built to match Dwaynes Cobra down from Coos Bay. It was great!!

Dwayne looked and acted like a little kid. He was helping get the truck parked and running around with more energy than he has had in a great while!!

The sun was shinning and it was 67 degrees and no rain, the perfect day along the Oregon Coast line.

DonC took a bunch of photos and will be posting them soon. It was a very emotional time and a very great time to see my dear friend finally get his car!!

Thanks to all of you who have helped in this process and have said prayers for Dwayne along the way!!

The Smile on his face as he smoked the tires 30 seconds after it was off the truck was worth all the trouble it has been. His dream of Cobra Ownership has finally come true!!

Smile

That is fantastic news and I am really happy for Dwayne. That car will do more for him than a dozen doctors. Can't wait to see the pictures. Thanks for the update.
