I'm still hoping.........
Boy oh boy! I am still hoping for this to happen but it is becoming truly difficult to have much faith in Mr. Hunt! Hogdealers last post about sending Dwayne hime to hospice care is truly a dagger in the heart!! Mr, Hunt, you are now truly out of time. I wish I had some confidence in you as some have, but I don't see this happening based upon your past performance. I would have absolutely LOVED to see a human in any of Curt's pictures but none were present. Most people are proud of their work in this industry but I am beginning to truly understand why no one there wants to see themselves with this car. Shame on you!
Please, finish this car and get it delivered before Dwayne dies, and I hope it is clear to you that you are in a race, you are dreadfully behind, and losing this will spell the ruin of your company and whatever reputation you have left!
There are 5 days left untill the 15th, then we have to add on transport time, and we all know a new car should be "broken in" with some driving miles/seat time.
I hope you are a God fearing man, Mr. Hunt, because it appears you need a lot of help and your back is against the wall.
Prove us wrong, complete the car, do something positive for yourself for once, and GET THIS CAR TO DWAYNE WHILE HE IS STILL CAPABLE OF GETTING IN IT, please!
John Russell

John,
We are all praying that Dwayne gets his car in time to enjoy it for a while. Then 15th is soon going to be here and another missed promised date of delivery is not going to look good. Lets just hope that they can get it to him by then and even before if they have to work all night a few nights.

One point: Duane has a good amount of money and not a lot of time. What is another $20k for him?

*** Answer to Questions ****
Dwayne decided not to have the Dry Sump engine put in the car since he will be unable to race the car now. 18 months ago he could have raced the car but not anymore. The contract amount for the car was $147,000. The Balance of the money was for a second set of rims and tires, the halon system, some special paint, etc... which brought the grand total to just under $154K. The car is going to be great. I hope as you do that it gets here soon so Dwayne can get a ride in it.
DonC,
If you could put a ride together with other Cobra's that would be fantastic!! Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers.

Countdown four days to go
January 12th, 13th, 14th 15th........
Dwayne, hope you get your Cobra there mate and you get to have a few blasts around the streets and suburbs.
I know that there will be a convoy of Cobras and Cobra owners heading to Finishline if it's not ready... .. .. .. ..
Well done to all at 'CC' who picked up the baton and ran with it. Good to see 'CS' buy in as well.
Where now for 'Finishline' from here - January 15th??..
Guess all you guys over there will be keeping an eye open for the factory parts sale that Finishline will now have - 'SALE' NOW ON..
Unless some of you know something I don't, the 15th of January 2005 will/should mark the end of 'Finishline' and the closing of their doors. Particularly if everyone calls in their money..
No business person could operate or trade in Australia, as it appears that this 'HUNT' kangaroo has done ..oops nearly spelt his name wrong. The Crocodile man would have stepped in a sorted him...
How much money (deposits) has this company collected from you guys and not delivered... ..$$_________.oo
Hope all you guys who have left deposits or money get everything back as well.
Again, well done to all at CC, to get to this position.
I take my hat off to you Danny (HOGDEALER) for having the foresight in placing this 'Thread'. You are a great mate.
..I wonder where Dwayne's Cobra would be today if this 'Thread" had not been started - parts on a shelf.
God bless you Dwayne, I hope to meet you at the 'Double Venom Spring Fling' in June with your car or at the 'SAAC' in Fontana in June.. criusing in your new ride...
Cheers all - stay safe.
I'll be looking out for the delivery photos on the 15th..
Bernie

Looks like I'm heading to Vegas on the 20th-23rd of January. Going to stop in at Shelby and then go down the street to Finishline. Yea, maybe a BIG garage sale there.
Dwayne, hope you will enjoy the ride, just a few more days till delivery. I HOPE !!!!
Texas will kick some butt if its not ready.

$154K.
A third of which would have served Dwaynes family much more effectively than the pockets of Kroyer and Hunt.
...And STILL left a remainder to pay for a SURPERB Cobra rep.
26 Months.
I know, it was Dwaynes call.
A shame he didn't mine this forum for advice BEFORE his health and customer treatment worsened.
Here's hoping he sees the car.

Confirming DonC's comments, if the Pacific Northwest FFR Owners Group, aka NW Cobra Club, based in Portland, can add any cheer by providing a welcoming visit, let us know. We'll get there rain or shine!

I just cannot see how a company that makes cobras cannot do it in 26 months. I built mine with no training, very little tools and a little help from friends in just under 2 years, And I mostly worked on Saturdays>

This could be Dwaynes parade...
What a great idea if you guys could all turn up when he takes delivery.
Whoa - what a site to see hundreds of Cobras in the street or in a park to greet him. Yes, take him down there to see his Cobra and you guys are waiting also.
..how could he get the smile off his face.
Would that be hard to organise..
I cannot imagine the feeling he would have to see such a sight and his Cobra there in the middle of it all..
Just a thought...
Now come on guys surely you could organise something like this..??
I can just imagine the smile that would be on his face....
Cheers
Bernie

Now that would be great if the NW Cobra club could hook up with the delivery truck with Dwaynes car. The rolling thunder of a dozen or more Cobras escorting Dwaynes delivery would be great medicine for the soul. I hope you guys can pull that off.

Roasting marshmellows or selling burgers I'm there.
Newmexico,
Hey, Bob, if I could make it I'd be there to organise it. But there are enough people who understand my sentiments there who could probaly put a smile on a guys face.
I've done it once or twice with 'Make A Wish' and I feel as good as the kids do ..
OK Bob, lock up your women, fill up your beer fridge, light the BBQ, we are on our way..

Hey I'm there..
Newmexico,
Now I could get there in ten (10) days....
Hell, I hope that Dwayne is driving around by then..
Or do I just have to go via that place with Steve Irwin the 'Crocodile man' and 'fix' that guy up who didn't get Dwayne's Cobra done on time.. ...????
Jamo,
I will have an 'alibi' if anything does happen to our friend...
No 'Mens Rae' and not my 'Modus Operandi'.. .. hell we are all prison excercise yard lawyers over here.. ..if anything happens its.."Not Guilty" your Honour. I'm over here cooking...
Just a little light $hit whilst I'm waiting to see the outcome of this "Thread".. ..aaaah, back on track again.
Cheers
Bernie

Hey Bernie. You missed the thrust.
It was: organise v. organize.
I already knew you had a good heart.
