I've always thought the best thing about the car is the billet suspension, what a work of art !
How does it perform ?
A few years ago, I talked with Rich Anderson from Shell Valley, and I asked him if he had considered a IRS. he said they built one and they really did not see an advantage, especially of the cost. With our cobras, is the articulation of the IRS really better, thus giving a better ride ?
The Kirkham, of course has the typical front suspension. The C/E has a pinched type, I wonder which rides and controls better ?
Has a comparison test ever been done ?
Since I play around with launching mine off a start, not dumping the clutch, just for fun, do the knuckles/half shafts ect. hold up ?
I'm sure in road racing, it would react better than a solid axle like the Ford 9", but what about the difference between normal highway driving ?
Anyway, we race sprint cars like the guys from Cutting Edge do, so I guess I always keep them in mind. I'm not sold on the body but wish I could see one in person. Actually, I would love to dive one of their cars.
Again, the suspension looks awesome !

prior to 2007 you could get a Midstates with a vette or jag rear. I dont know how many of them are out there with those rearends but there a few for sure.

Hey BossCER, good to see you're still out there. Ever fix the oil consumption?
Working on the fuel system. Most recent: bad electric fuel pump, crap in the tank, pulled the tank - fixed a few gasket leaks in the tank, adding some foam to reduce slosh, had the injectors checked and cleaned, and now putting it back together for the season. New optima battery on the rear tray (took out the small Rock Racing battery; died again - second Rock Racing battery) Got black flagged at Thunderhill - #1 might be smoking, clutch rattles sometimes and worries me, thinking it might need another dyno tune (ouch$$) .... we'll see.
As for the shape of the body, the rear wheel well is more rounded too, wider? At 100 mph, all cobra's look similar!
Very cool billet suspension, but don't know if it is better or not. The shocks are moved inboard to reduce weight. Giant 17x335 rear tires also changes things. But my gut feeling is that Kirkham, ERA, SPF, FFR, Shell Valley, JBL have more cars out there and all of the bugs have been worked out. Interesting to do a comparison. I soften my suspension for more street comfort. No antisway bars, but thinking of designing a front bar. (I'm in the softer spring - big antisway bar camp) At rest, front steering is hard - went to a new ratio but still takes a gorilla to park the car. Tony Woodward changed the ratio for parts only - free labor. (My Shell Valley Daytona Coupe turns much easier at rest)
I love my CER1008, since I built it. Billet suspension is always a WOW factor. I had a good experience with Doug and Kurt at CER.
Still tinkering and having fun!

Ron,
Yes I did fix the oil consumption issue. I decided to just go through the entire motor. I had Bob Panella Motorsports in Stockton do it, could not be more happy. I will use them for future builds for sure. Amazing people, amazing facilities. The Boss car is running better than ever
Sorry to hear of the issues you having at the moment but at least you have the Coupe to fall back on. Good luck getting the bugs worked out. I've been lucky w/ my Rock battery, still doing well.
I have my cars suspension sorted very well, I kinda cheated and had Tom's up in Vegas do it. Sticks like glue
