Frito,
Is one of those Mike M's?

You going to C&C in July?

I'm pretty sure the one farthest away was owned by a fellow called Mike. I was a bit distracted by the owner of the one next to me. A nice old Dutch guy named Ed, I had no idea who he was as he regaled me with a few racing stories that he told with the demeanor of a chocolate maker. His stories about racing Le Mans, Spa, and a few other tracks in the 60's intrigued me so I googled him. Turns out he's Ed Swart of some racing fame and that nice old Dutch guy is hell on wheels in a race car! I'm looking forward to our next meeting.

If you're talking about the PV C&C on the 7th I will be there. Schedule permitting I try to make every one.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I am just coming out of my food coma now...

Here’s a couple of my favorite shots of my car because they really show the curves!

It took 15 months and a whole lot of work to get this 502 cid (460 block with a stroker crank) in the car, troubleshot, and tweaked. I've always been a Chevy small block V8 enthusiast. Transitioning to a Ford engine presented its challenges. I was haunted with oil leaks, fuel leaks, coolant leaks, cooling capacity problems, flex plate and starter alignment problems, alternator problems, ignition timing problems. Just par for the course for an engine swap, I guess, but this one was especially painful. My old Camaros were much easier and cheaper to work with. But that's history. My Cobra is finally a dependable car that'll take me wherever I need to go without fear of breaking down. ATK Performance Engines advertised this engine at 515 hp and 585 ft-lb torque. The spec sheet that came with the engine showed 530 hp and 570 ft-lbs. Close enough. Okay, so no one ever promised me that building/maintaining a Cobra was going to be easy. I get that.

Latest pic of the Tangerine Beast with it hunkered down, with Hoosiers on it and with the new roll bar. I am not done with the bar yet. I will be adding a brace which goes from the middle of the bar down to the tub just behind the dash.
