Lexan can be bent easily to form the shape of the frame and costs about 1/3rd the price of glass make sure you get scratch resistant Lexan and since most Cobras are topless lets not worry about the wiper blades being the source of scratches but you will have to clean off those nasty gooey bugs as with any windshield.

One way to make it easy to get the bugs off is to lay a damp towel over the windshield for about 30 minutes or so to soften them up. Then they just wipe off.

Ant,

No, you just need to hold a curve while you push it down into the upside down frame.

WHO and where do I get another windshield now? With all the mergers and so on what is the market for glass replacement windshields now?

I used these guys several years back. Good OEM quality and the cheapest I could find.

Windshield Glass Only w/ Seal AC Shelby Cobra Replica 427 289 ACE - HanesHotRods

If you are good with your hands this is an easy change. Much easier than modern windshields.

I'm now in a situation again. The new windshield it at the correct angle I got the wind wings installed, got to have them, the wind buffets the ears terrible. When I next have the windshield out again I'll repair every 10-32 screw hole in both sides with SS Heli-coil thread repair kit. I got side screws that screwed in a turn and a half. That screw hole is stripped from no having full threads contact. The windshield will have to be removed and the side frames done off the glass. Not a big expense but for me to do it but I'll do it when I'm doing the glass again. I never suspected the windshield frame threaded holes were that bad.

Wife wants me to repair the side frame holes and determine the correct length screws, with the old glass still in place before I buy another glass. SV showing the current price (just the glass) $450+.

Check with Factory Five. Their windshield glass was the least expensive and required little shaping to fit my Classic Roadster.

Good Luck,
John
