good enough.......at least I know if it works for you, it will work for me........great help, Steve...just keep the post updated.......but most likely I will have mine ordered soon......and BTW are those 235' s in the front? I am going with 245 and 295. They should be the exact same size as my BFG's

Fred -
My mistake on my front tire size. I've got 225/65/15 on the front. These are the same height as the 295/50/15 on the rear. I think they are about .8 inches narrower than the 245/60/15 which is what I would have gotten had they been in stock.

Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the Avon's against the Goodyear "Billboards"? How do these two compare? Grip, handling, balance, etc. . .

Avon 245 / Trigo Shelby
Does the 245 work up front on Shelby please. Is that what eveyone has been using so far. Any issues with fit vs. say Goodyear Eagle 235/60.
Thanks,
ed

Well, it's been a couple of months... Any feedback from those with the new Avons?

Be warned, once you ride on the Avons, there is no going back. 1400 miles on them and I am totally addicted to the way my car handles and responds with these tires. I love the Avon CR66ZZs.

The big question is how much do they REALLY cost - that is, what kind of mileage wear are they going to provide under spirited street driving. There's only one way to find out!

Nine months later... how are the Avons performing?

Performance is great, wear is better than I had hoped.
4100 miles to date. This includes 2 days of track time at VIR and about 20 1/4 mi passes at the drag strip. Lots of tread left. I leave Oct. 7 heading for 3 days of autocross, road racing and drag racing at Run n' Gun, then straight down to VIR for 2 more days of road racing. I am counting on the Avons to last through all of that and then we'll see how much farther they can go. I have already bought a replacement set which are waiting in my garage for whenever these give out. I'll let you know what the final count is. My guess is that these tires should be good for at least 8000 (maybe 10,000) miles of purely street use.
