Well, just too many good times to ratio any bad ones!!
I do recall a time i pulled up to a Starbucks for some hot Joe! As the car was idling......i noticed this guy and his girl sitting outside on the deck......and he looked over and then did this wave thing....attempts to ward off the fumes and such, as to give me the....'thanks for the smell, now turn the damn thing off' kind of wave! so, to be respectful, I did, without him even noticing that I saw his wave......(well, maybe I did give it one last rev.....at about 3 g's........first!!) His girl was fine, he was the problem, and I knew why! They ended up moving on......bummer, i would have liked a chat with him......and no, nothing I would have said would have been derogatory....more like......sorry for the noise and smell.......it is just a beast sometimes, and wants to eat........PEOPLE!!!!
By the way, on the vandalism thing....after reading Hal Copple's 'ode to a cobra owner'.....i remember the part where he says.....' and you can leave your cell phone and sunglasses right there on the tunnel, and come back and they will be completely undisturbed'.
so, i plan on getting an old phone, old sunglasses, and $10 dollar bill, and leave it byt the shifter up high, and just test the theory, 'cause I truly believe that the respect for these cars is so high that they will not be touched! Will get back and update you.

I was cuising down the freeway and a guy in an Escalade rolled down his window and gave me the middle finger as he drove by me. Was negative but made me feel good

I had my first angry reaction yesterday.

I was driving along and I noticed the car next to me had the gas cap unscrewed and dangling on the little plastic deal they have now days. I maneuvered to pull up next to the passenger side of the loose gas cap car as the passenger had her window down. I tried yelling, "GAS CAP, "GAS CAP." She looked puzzled and flipped me off. I don't think she could hear me over the noise of my side pipes.

Must be a "West of the Mississippi" thing as I have yet to have anyone (besides the kids in mom and dads 20 year old used Honda with the fart can on it) say or do anything negative Cobra wise..........

Of course there is one Cobra owner who seems to think he is above everyone else, quite vocal about it I might add, but that is a whole other discussion thread ...........

My Prius-driving boss would much rather drive a 427 powered Cobra...

Maybe she only understood Swahili? In Swahili, "Gas Cap" means "Let's race, beeotch!"

It occured to me that the Prius is an inherently more dangerous car than the Cobra---you can't hear them in parking lots.

So, if a Prius owner says, "Your car is too loud!" you can rightly reply, "Your car is too quiet. You're gonna kills somebody!" and you'd be right.

Are we still having issues with the cars? I would agree, the quieter the less you know that they are there.......so, loud is good, right?

Default Jamo might win this one...

Sounds exactly like something my mom has said about several of my cars....Back in HS my mom actually called the police and had them come tell me to stop making all that noise at a late hour during a thrash to get ready for a weekend at the strip....Can't wait to hear what she says about a Cobra in her driveway...

So far following in a close second... "What time does Barbie want her car back" .... Poor Miata owner...lol

Too funny......quick thinking indeed...

Keep them coming guys ....

on the other side of things, sometimes i will note a car right behind me, carefully looking my car over, weaving slightly to each side, to inspect it up close on each side of my car. I just wait until they finally slowly up next to me, as they carfully check my car out, then when i look over to give them a thumbs up or a smile, turns out it is some girl putting on makeup, who wouldn't have noticed if i was driving an M1 Abrams tank next to her, and had poked the barrel thru her side window.

I love trees and hug some small ones, but I also love Cobras and mine loves to set car alarms off. Not last fathers day but in 2005 I had driven into Tacoma Wa to spend Fathers day with my son . I stop at Safeway, park on the other side of the lot away from ever one, just there 15mins to pick up some steaks for the get together. As I got back to the Cobra there was shopping cart in the front end of the Cobra the headlight was broken and some paint chips in front. A guy standing by said that this guy had run the cart into the front end and drove off. He had part of the linc.#
I think I was glad I wasnt there or I would have kill the guy I was so dam mad. I think there most be some people out there who think that all of us have not work hard to have these cars

WTF?! Good thing you didn't see that happen and the guy that did it. That would have been a felony assault charge for me.

I think that kind of stuff happens to most nice cars out of pure envy. I've had a Mustang keyed and my C4 Vette used as a door bumper for cheap cars that just had to park next to me. People who can't afford the cars or can but just want to let you know they don't agree with your choice will always do stupid things. I was so worried about my last Cobra, I never let it out of my site. That kind of took some of the fun out of it from time to time. If I ever caught someone intentionaly damaging one of my cars, they would have a very hard time eating corn on the cob when I got done with them.

Here, here you gotta agree with that! Would have a hard time eating corn, as he would be using his hands to work his crutches!

There's been a lot of chatter of assaulting the vandal, but what can one really do? I mean, who wants to end up in the "system" over some dumba$$ that doesn't like your car? I often think what would I really do if I caught someone in the act. Sure, beating the crap out of them would be my first school of thought, but then the cops show up and haul me off for felony assault and he/she calls their attorney for damages to their face. So what do you do?
