Newbie going to Indy F1

Hello All. Have been a viewer for about 18 months. Presently in discussions for new SPF with Sth Auto FE 390/424. Have family ownership in profressional racing operation in NE Atlanta. Will be at Indy for F1 (you know-- the glued-together cars with no fender flares

) from Thurs night to Mon night. Would be great to meet you folks in the area and see your cars, and have a beer or two. Give me a shout if you can spare the time.

I spent the past 3 days at the Canadian Grand Prix. The weather was great all weekend.

Lots of action but the race itself almost began to look like a NASCAR race as the safety car was out 4, 5, 6 times??? I can't even remember how often it came out but it was often.

There was one very serious crash. Kobica (sp?) in a BMW Sauber lost contol at about 200 mph veered to the right and hit a concrete retaining wall, bouncing off of it and across the track where he hit the outside concrete retaining wall. This was one of the most violent crashes I have ever seen but the good news is that he only had a mild concussion and a sprain. There was very little of the car left.

Lewis Hamilton won his first ever F1 race and now has a solid lead in the championship.

Yes Lewis is certainly making a big impression on everyone in his first year.

I watched an interesting documetary on him when at the Melbourne F1. He sure had a passion at an early age and was cheeky enough at 11 years of age to go up to the F1 team boss and say.."I'll drive for you one day"..

Hey Wayne and Bernie,

Thanks for your response. Yeah ,that Lewis kid sure is something to watch.

Will be interesting to see if he breaks another "podium" record of finishes. We will be racing a 997 in IMSA GT3 in AM before main event. You can see our car, the #38, on our website kssmotorsports.com. Son-in -law Russell owns the company. On the Cobra front, I had my first ride in a BRG AC Bristol in '63, I think it was. (probably before Carroll did)

I am real close to signing on the bottom line for a new SPF with a Southern Automotive FE390/424. Being a non-US citizen, I want to do this right. Thought I might see some Snakes at Indy, therefore, my earlier post. I envy you guys who have your cars outside your front door. I have a 2 1/2 hr delta flight from Bermuda to Atlanta for mine.
