Can you explain the reason why both side are not the same?
Thanks

Assuming that you're mounting both the mirrors just in front of the windshield posts, you're much closer to the driver's side mirror than the "shotgun". You see a wider-angle view on the closer mirror. The passenger's side view is very narrow and not very useful. Take a look on almost any production car and that's the way the mirrors are configured.

Like tc sj, I have tried to do a meaningful search regarding side mount mirrors too. Only my concern was where should they be placed? Would anyone care to comment on that. About how far in front of the window should they go and where laterally on the fender?

By the way, Strictlypersonl, thank you for your posts over the years. You have been a quite, major support to the hobby.

Thank you all.

Rick

I have the Raydot mounted to the windshield frame. Made the mistake of getting 2 flats. Convex on the passenger side is a must have, just like mirrors on current vehicles. Finishline and others have a braket which mount to existing holes on the windshield frame. Places the mirror about 1-2 inches ahead of the winshield. Look for the pic titled "Cockpit" in my gallery which should give you a pretty good idea of the setup.

i too have the windshield mount i can see over my arm that rests on the door most of the time. driverside was easy to make out of flat aluminum. passenger side needs a few bends and i little longer arm to get around the wings.i wish i had bought two convex raydots , flats have a very small field of vision .
