one word fits here....WOW!

I just acquired a Kirkham myself but am drooling over my keyboard at 3050.
I LOVE the orange color as well as it's my favorite.

Jack, John, take the complaints here with a grain of salt about the carpet. it's your car, enjoy it as you have. if you get the opportunity to post more pictures, please do.

Thank you for posting your story and pictures of the car. It’s nice to know it’s here in Texas, even though it’s still many miles from Austin. There’s a real 289 here in Austin, no 427’s to my knowledge. I do like your plate, I run a 1965 Texas plate with "BLT 427" on my aluminum replica. That’s the closest I’ll get to a real one for now………..

I have now seen 3021 and 3050 in person and there are two distinct impressions. First, these cars were well before their time. Bash Ole Shel all you want, the idea of a big-assed engine + a little dinky car = a Cobra was all his. Secondly, the hand craftsmanship was spectacular for the age. This 3050 car has 10k miles on it and is has aged gracefully....you can tell it was built with painstaking passion and attention to detail. Every electrical connection, every bolt, every seam...100% hand-crafted.

I know it's been a while, here's some more pics, enjoy.

Well some info, the first pic shows the original paint, my father has been working on the carpet. We've been fixing the garage up, so it's got a little better home. The fourth pic is some paint damage from the windshield shaking, I was told my father pegged out the speedo going to pecos, about 60 miles away, the way the story goes is him and a friend had to go to some office over there that closed at 5, and they left at 4:45 and still made it with time to spare. It's hard to get pics of underneath, I really don't want to jack it up. And the last pic I'll let you guys figure out.

Oh and on the subject of drivability, apparently there is a hairline crack in one of the valve spring retainers, until it's replaced we won't run the motor.

Thanks...good to see you back.

Next time you're snapping pictures, can you get some closeups of the fittings on the oil cooler? ...would be much appreciated.

Love it!!! Tell your dad not to change a thing! It's perfect the way it is.
Well maybe change the valve spring retainers but nothing else.
Beautiful!

Like the Tiger too!

Thanks, it's great. Saw two original Cobras race at Road America last weekend. So cool to see pictures of an original.

WOW, great to see it on the ground and in the sun. Heard it was going to be running by next years BBORR. We'll be back and look forward to seeing it running.
Thanks for keeping us updated.

Tell Jack that he better call when he brings it back to life. Gonna celebrate. Can't wait until next spring.

Rush is my favorite band. Love the reference.

BTW, the car is spectacular.

When I had 3042, I would occasionally have someone tell me the blue fittings on the oil cooler were incorrect for the car. I would politely let them know they were untouched from the way it was delivered in '66. If you look closely at the fittings on 3050, you can see they, too, are blue beneath the flat black paint.

Kinda new to this site, so hadn't seen this thread before. Great car, thanks for posting the info and pictures and bringing the thread back to life.

And it's a bit of a step-child to the Cobra, but that Tiger is cool too!
