Default Vintage decal placement

I just ordered the vintage race decal set, from Finish Line, for my SPF. Anyone have any pics of where they placed them on their Cobra? I would love to see how, and where, others have done this. I want the "fresh off the track" look. Thanks!

Here is my car....

Now if I have non-vintage stickers can I put them in the same place or do they go somewhere else?

Its funny...I tried non approved decals and they either a) would not stick or b) burned the paint.

Is there a source that I can contact for proper placement since all race cars required similar approvals much like NASCAR does today?

John:
You can send $10.00 to C.Shelby and he will send you a licensed COPY of the "Official Placement Of Authentic Decals!" (Wonder if it's a Replica or perhaps a REAL COPY? )

I just threw mine on where ever they would fit. GOOD thread, I'll reconsider next time I want to put on the 'war paint'.

...and don't forget the shorties for that 'just off the track' look.

Get some different colors of DUCT TAPE (or better yet, race tape) and play around with some team stripes on the fender or across the hood. The yellow stripes on my fender are racing tape!

For another show I went with THREE white stripes to match the sidepipe and wheel color (pipes and wheels are painted, I've tried black, red and currently white). Dress it up! Have fun with it! Note the black hood, several cars around here with white stripes, wanted to be different.

Sargent Cobra.

Excaliber... great idea about messing with the race tape. I have been trying to figure out just what color to use for the team stripes on my silver. That might make it easier to figure out what color will look good on my car. I'll have some vinyl stripes made once I decide.

As far as the shorties... my neighbors still hate me from the Pantera I had before the Cobra. It was REALLY loud with a BIG cam. They actually think the Cobra is better! Weirdos. Who DOESN'T like lumpy Ford cam sounds??????

My friend experimented with the tape, found what he liked, got them in vinyl. Whoa, they look really good done in vinyl, just like their painted on. Much nicer than my 'poor man' duct tape method.

Here's a few photos of my decal/sticker placement.

The over guard/fender stripes in yellow are painted on.

The front and rear gumballs are also painted on.

The two gumballs on the doors are decal/stickers.

Pre paint..

Without the gumballs on the doors at the racetrack

My take on the race decals was that less was better. I just use the ones shown along with the meat balls on the hood and side.
