My car has been completed now for 3 weeks, a new West Coast Cobra 460 crate engine 550hp 545lb of torque 5 speed, and it is stuck in a trucking warehouse in Toronto waiting for a truck to bring it out to Vancouver.
They did not tell me this until the contract was signed and then they said it could be up to 16 days I waited for 20 days and now they are saying maybe late next week with still no definate delivery date. It will cost me $600 to get it released if I want to go pick it up my self but no point as it has to certified in BC to get a BC VIN# to be able to drive it.
Two car shows cancelled.
It sure is a nice sunny day today to be out driving.

Transport is always a tricky thing. Even "the best" can fall short sometimes on the actually pickup/drop off etc. I experience it all the time. Hang in there, I know it is tough but once you have it you will realize it was worth it.

Holy cow Norm. I am sorry to hear about your trouble. I thought you would be driving your car by now. I hope you get it soon.
Best of luck

I'm sure the trucking company won't put too many miles on your car while they complete the break in process.

The trucking company is most likely waiting to get enough of a load for your area to make the trip profitable for them. Could you get a trailer or another truck and pay the $600 dollars and go haul it home yourself and then get it certified there? Good luck and then first drive will make all of this a distant memory.

I drove 600 miles with a car trailer in tow to pick mine up and then drove the 600 miles back home again. Me and a friend did it all in one very long day with both of us sharing the driving.
All your transport troubles will be forgotten when you get it home and you'll have a new set of troubles. Like " How do I keep these rear wheels from smoking?" or "Why do people always stop me and ask all about the car when I park any where"
Cheers

Thank everyone, I tryed to rent a uhaul trailer or even a open trailer with a truck but no one I could find allows for a rental 3000 miles away.
The trucking company told me that the truck I was to be on was full, I told them I would pay a premium and that the car can only be driven in the summer...no responce back!
I am sure all will be forgotten when the car get here, just wanted to ge the car in the local show and shine all my friends were excited to see the show!!

Norm,
The waiting is the hardest part. Once you get the car, you will soon forget all about the frustration. Talk to Bruce who has been trying for months to get his new CSX into Canada. Or Jdog who patiently waited for what seemed years just to get his from Las Vegas to Sacramento.

Hi Norm
Were you able to find out what the real hold up is ? Are they waiting to fill a trailer to make it more economical for them and you ? Or did they overbook and bumped you out till the next load ? Either way it sounds like their said ship date of June 15/07 was very miss calculated ? I too was going to use this carrier but am now having second thoughts if this is the way they do business.

I know exactly how you feel! The wait is the worst part! I have been in your shoes (for different reasons) many times with this whole thing.
Here is what I suggest:
If the distance is not too far from your house (less than one day) and you get a good weather forecast, rent a car trailer and truck, get 4 high quality straps, and get it yourself. If that's too costly, just call them every other day and be polite and hope for the best. Meanwhile try to think of something else. . .
It will be over before you know it.

Hey Norm
Did Mackie ever deliver your car ?
How long did it take ?
What shape was it in when you got it ?
Other than the delay, do you trust that they took care of your baby ?
Real curious to here how this played out !
Thanks
Brent
