Former "voyeur" now owns Cobra Replica!!
Hi,
Some of you may remember my posts and queries when I started finding my way to ownership of my dream vehicle. I looked at BDR & SPF, always admired ERA, knew there were many other great cars out there as well.
My goal was to have a SB street car, with street dash, undercar exhaust, no stripes, no roll bar. I looked pretty much everywjere, considered the pros & cons of ordering new vs buying an existing car.
In the end, just like happened with my Wife of many years, the right car found me! I now own ERA #390, having purchased it from Joe Rodomista this week. I first looked at it back in May; really nice car, but had side pipes, roll bar, BB engine. Not what I pictured in my mind.
Thought long & hard, stayed in touch with Joe, went to the mountain to visit Peter & co., thought some more. In the end, I decided I'll have ERA make a few changes, like the exhaust and roll bar, but keep the openings with tasteful body color covers for any switch back to the way she was built. And I really came to love the fact that the wood on the wheel, and the end of the turn signal lever are a bit worn from careful use, that the non-metalic paint looks just right to me, and that Joe and ERA are the only hands that have touched anything important since 390 left the shop in '93.
Can't wait to get the new reg back so I can start enjoying. Thanks to all who responded to my questions and such. Can't wait to meet as many as I can. I plan to enjoy driving 390, no track days planned, no trailer even contemplated. I do know that the next 7300 miles won't take 14 years!!
Jerry

Jerry,
What a great purchase. It looks like new. Perhaps you will just drive it and leave it as you will be to busy to change anything...

Congratulations! You realize your car is featured prominently on the ERA website? You have a famous ERA. Be sure to sign in to the ERA registry.

Thanks!
Appreciate the complements guys! JOe R. gets all the credit for making & keeping 390 the awesome ride she is, but I'll try to do my part as well.
Dave - If I'm ever up your way I'll let you know. If you head down here give me a shout! Still love the ideas of what you did to your BDR.
xracerbob - 390 is in the registry! I know 389 is there, and I met 399 at a local show, so several "close relatives" around.
Regards to all,
Jerry
