So few rollbars. How have ya'll survived all these years?!
What Jamo (and Bogey) said. The stuff dreams are made of!

For what it's worth, Ned was one of the participants in the "real beer" days back in New Jersey. His silver 289 can be spotted in a couple of the pics in my gallery; all we lacked was the Pacific Ocean.

That's him in the blue plaid pants right?
He still has that pair, but since they don't fit he uses them to wipe off his cars. I think you can see them under his blanket in COX6111

This might be the most 'non-comp' Cobras in one picture in some time.

Ned's silver car of old (CSX 2306) is now the bright blue 289 on the far right of the Grandfather Mountain photo above. Ed Maxwell ( my bro), who sold 2306 to Ned in 1972, was on the Tour and got to drive it for the first time in 35 years. I don't think he wanted to give the keys back to Ned. ( and I think he made an unexplained trip to the hardware store before he gave them back).

Thanks, Real 1. Tom Cotter and I enjoyed doing the Tour and getting the original cars out of the garages and on the road, as they should be, in our opinion, despite their "worth". Tom has a 3 hour cruise tour he has mapped out near his house that he does for relaxation every time he gets a chance. Mine spend too much time in the garage, as it is. If I had more time, I would buy a new replica Cobra and drive the heck out of it and not worry about breakdowns, etc. but who has that much free time, even in retirement? And I've got a long way to go before I retire, with three kids in college!

I'm not sure if Ned was the guy in the plaid pants, but he was probably the only one in our regular group who was classy enough to wear anything other than dirty Levis to our meetings.
Interestingly, in addition to Ned, two other guys in that picture are still heavily involved with Cobras. Lee Weinstein, the somewhat paunchy individual with the glasses still has his 289 slabside, and Geoff Howard (seated next to Ned, if it is Ned) has been restoring Cobras as a full time occupation since the late 1970s.
