Jay,
I have had several CC members PM ask me if you would let them send you Sears cards or something for you to forward as a group gift from CC. What are your thoughts???

I just spoke to Jay and he is OK with the cards being sent to him for delivery to Brooke Burn Center in San Antonio. Jay will be going back to San Antonio with the Maurauder and a few more sponsores in a couple of weeks. Here is Jay Nordstroms mailing address for those that want to support this effort:
Jay Nordstrom
11817 Cromwell Dr.
Dallas, Texas 75234
972-742-2594
Although I think he will be able to figure things out, you may want to write "Operation Comfort" somewhere on the envelope or card.
Thanks for everything.
Clois Harlan

After reading this thread I wrote to Home Depot. They will tell you how they help our communities, so I forwarded the address of Automotivation to them. I included a small description of what is going on there.
I am sure just about everyone of us has spent money at Home Depot. Maybe if we can overwhelm them with requests of help. They will actually stepup, and do the right thing. I went to their website at CONTACT US. There you will find questions, and comments. Maybe we can get Automotivation a complete shop setup in this way?

For the soldiers
Jay:
Thanks for your efforts and for bringing to our attention this very worthy cause. I'm headed to Sears and will put a gift card in the mail today. This will be from the Swendsen family and my extended family (The Texas Cobra Club and The Houston Cobra Club).
How about setting up a cruise, the TCC and anyone else, car entusiasts from around the state, head to San Antonio for a day and let these soldiers check out our cars and have a little tailgate party for them? Count me in.

I have posted the link on a few other sites, and some of the people have posted back that they have sent checks & gift cards, but like many, some don't post that they have donated anything so I really can't say just how many of them have chipped in. I know several who never posted will send whatever they can afford as they are Vietnam Vets and they are very oriented toward taking care of our military wounded and hurt. All responses I have had from these sites have been very nice and they have all told me that what Jay is doing is enough to make them want to cry at times. These are people who are maimed and on disability and doing the best they can with what they have. So there are a lot of people out there that are helping out in many different causes that don't have their names listed publicly.
Thanks Jay, for bringing this cause to our attention.

Ron, I wasn't going to mention my check sent, but it maybe a good idea to mention it. Maybe the more times it is mentioned it will encourage others.
I also I added to this thread earlier today of involving Home Depot. I am hoping more here will write to Home depot, or who ever you think will help in the corporate world. I was thinking if we focused on one company with many letters we will have a better chance to get a response?

It would be great if we could get Home Depot and some other businesses to chip in. There are a lot of businesses that could help out in many ways and it wouldn't cost them much either. Besides that they would use it as a tax deduction.

OK. I have sent an Email to NAHB and we will see if they respond. Everyone looking at new homes should ask thier builder if they have contributed to this cause. If they have not find another builder.
Here is the link to NAHB:
http://www.nahb.org/contact_newsroom...?sectionID=153
I think everyone here should contact them and ask them to get involved.

What I am doing:
I wrote a letter in MS Word and I copy and paste it in the body of the email. That way I can send it out to many companies in a shorter time frame.
