Default How much is this worth?

Hello all,

Can someone please tell me what model this Cobra replica is. The owner says its a 1965, but what is it based on, who built it and price range for the car, please.

It is currently in the Middle East for sale, imported two months ago from Japan. They have a knack of importing the stuff that the Japanese don't want, which makes me think its a cheap copy. That said, the owner wants $25,000.

Many thanks all. Jon

If it runs out well, in the States it would easily fetch 25K USD. It looks like an FE engine. Someone here should be able to ID the mfr.

joner,

You do not say where you are located. If you are in the middle east it may be considered reasonably priced.

The car looks reasonably good in the photos and obviously a good check will reveal any faults. Without generalising - but I will - the majority of high performance vehicles that come out of Japan have had a fairly hard life. So it may also be worth while to have the drive train checked out.

The interior although in good condition is well worn - perhaps indicating the age of th car.

I agree with double ugly that in the USA it would be good value. Weigh up your options and the need to purchase in the middle east. If you are not in the middle east I would forget it and look in your area.

..I would also search cars on this site for a comparison. Any Cobra purchased in the USA can be checked out, as nearby owners to the seller will soon give you an appraisal. Many will/may look at the Cobra for you..

Shipping and associated costs back to the USA would also need to be factored in if applicable.

..good luck with any decision.

....and the shifter.

If it's in good mechanical order I'd guess it's worth the price, espically with the FE.

I would a careful search on the Vin numbers. A lot of cobras that are stolen in the US end up in the Middle East and Asia.

Default type of cobra replica

95% sure this is a contempory classic. looks like mine in every detail except my engine is a cleveland. this car has the xke rack steering, everthing on the fire wall and placement is exactely like mine. the bead on the carpet for the tunnel is exactly the same, striping, inside door panels, condition of the leather seats. if its a early ccx it won't have an I.D. plate on the passenger side under the hood but it will have a number stamped on the top of the driver side 4"O.D. frame rail between the front and rear of the lower "A" frame 00-00-00-0 day-month-year-number built. my guess 1981-1985 ccx. i paid $26,850.00 4/06.

I would be very careful, as this could be a rip off artist with a lot of pictures and no car, or he may sell it to six different people. You get ripped off in the middle east, you will not like the legal help you will get. You might be lucky to leave with your head still attached.
