Default Superformance Header Replacement Suggestions

Thinking about replacing the stock Superformance headers and sidepipe mufflers. I have read some very informative threads about replacement mufflers but need some assitance with replacement headers. Please share your thoughts( specs and fabricators).. I have a Roush 427SR.. Trying to increase the performance.........

Give Dennis Olthoff (Olthoff Racing in NC) a call--he should be able to steer you in the right direction on replacement headers for an SPF.

Also check out Greg Schroeder's gallery, he posted pictures of both headers side by side. That will be my next upgrade, should receive my Pro-System carb today. Wish the ran would stop here so I could test it out.

SPF now has better headers available from the factory, my understanding is these were built off input from Olthoff. In any case you can call your SPF dealer and ask for some '402' headers. They should match up well to the exhaust ports on your Roush motor.

My $0.02 - I would either buy headers and side pipes that have a flange, rather than a slip fit, where they connect, or I would add the flange, before spending the money to jet hot coat them.

Also I would gasket match the header before having it coated. Hopefully your head was already gasket matched. That should help quite a bit.

Definately jet hot coat them.
