Default Gas Pump Hose- Major Woops

Every Cobra owner knows how much excitement can be generated for the public by merely driving our cars into a gas station to re-fuel.
On our recent "2007 Cruise Utah" we had stopped for fuel at an out of the way gas station (more of a large bump in the road type of town) and while gassing up, a small car with 4 teenagers (2 boys and 2 girls) pulls in for fuel and also to check out the impromptu car show. The driver of the car (Josh) starts pumping gas into the car and then walks over to check out our rides.
To say that he was excited would be a major understatement. He was ooo-ing and aw-ing and super excited to see such fine looking vehicles out in the middle of nowhere.
As we get ready to depart, an excited Josh and friends return to their car because he wants to follow us out of the station, so he hops in fires it up and takes off!!
We hear a very loud crunching noise and then from inside the car we hear, "Josh, what have you done?"
The gas pump was scattered across the parking lot as Josh had forgotten to remove the fuel hose from his car!! Evidently the tear off handle did not do it's job!
You know it is very hard not to laugh in a situation like that, but Josh felt very, very bad for what he had done so we saved our giggles for later. Our cruise participants had a fun story to tell!!

If you have any gas station stories to tell, please feel free to share with us!!

Buying a tank of gas: $50.00
Repairing a ripped out gas pump: $2,500.00 (est.)
Watching the event unfold before your own eyes: Priceless

A year ot two ago, I was filling up when some guy came wondering over to admire the car and ask a few questions. The big problem was that he had a lit cigarette hanging out the corner of his mouth. After stopping the gas pump, I told him that I would be happy to answer his questions AFTER he gets rid of that lighted butt. He immediately put it out and apologized. I think that he was so excited about seeing a Cobra that he forgot he was smoking.
