Shelby's lawyers would like to talk to this guy. It's not from Shelby. Not a Shelby VIN.
Mark III chassis? Maybe it's a FFR. Can't see enough detail.
If you are thinking of buying it I would approach with caution. If they are mis-representing it from the get go I'd give it a good go over, maybe bring a Cobra guy with you. If it's a FFR it's not worth 40k.

...427 coil-spring cars were known as MK III's. ..they don't mean FFR.

I agree with the using the word Shelby. But maybe they have permission or maybe it's just another word like the word Cobra. No, it not a Shelby and they state that it is a Gentry Motor Works Cobra made replica and that it has a Gentry Motor Works vin. There web site states that they manufacture the Cobra complete and that it is not a kit. Evidently they only sell complete cars manufactured by them and they do not sell them in kit form. I don't think that it is a bad price for a complete turn key car. Although how can they say that it is a 1965? If they manufacture a Cobra in 2007 and they are a licensed auto manufacture, should it not be required to have 2007 smog? Is that not why most kit car manufactures sell there Cobras in kit or turnkey minus form?

A Gentry was a copy of a Unique with more attention to authenticity. I thought they were out of business.

Me too. The article on their website is from 1995.
It appears that the purpose of the site today is to sell the demo Comp car.

There is a guy just outside of Indianapolis (suburb) who bought Gentry a few years back and began building them in his warehouse just east of Indy. He actually built what appeared to be a pretty nice car. I notice the seller is in Carmel, IN which is a northern suburb and so I bet it is the same guy I bumped into a few years ago.
If Dan Semko still lurks around here I bet he could give details. He and I and went over there together but being a non-tech person I just kind of yawned my way through it.

I've never seen one in the flesh, but by all accounts Gentrys are supposed to be very well built replicas with an uncommon amount of attention to detail and quality.

Went thru the Gentry factory back in 01 or 02 while on a business trip to Indy. Very high quality but very low volume on my visit day. Often wandered what happened to the brand. Never saw one other than at the factory. Got a two page flyer somewhere that I picked up.
