Info on Daytona Coupe
We were at the Monterey Pre-Historic races last weekend. Among all the beyond awesome cars there, I was very impressed with this Daytona Coupe. The driver took his racing seriously both days and just kicked butt in his races. I didn't get a chance to talk to anyone about the car in the paddock and I wondered if anyone had information about it.
BTW, I cannot recommend the Pre-Historic races highly enough. The weekend is very relaxed and informal, paddock access is complete and easy, very few spectators, amazing cars and the cost of the whole weekend is just $0.00. Try that on the Historics weekend!

The #9 Coupe is CSX2286, owned (and probably driven) by Rob Walton.

That represents a whole lotta detergent washing thru WalMart!
At least he spends my money wisely.

A friend of mine, a heart surgeon in Seattle, was taking a driving course, Skip Barber, I think, years ago. As he sat at lunch with the other participants, they got on the subject of "what do you do?" This talented man that had been beating them most of the day, said, "I'm in retail." It was later in the week that my friend discovered that the "retailer" was Rob Walton.

Jim,
I think in his case it should be 'RETAILER'

I know it's odd, but I find myself drooling over the GARAGE more than the contents. I have pretty well resigned myself to doing without a Daytona (either variety) or P1075 (personal favorite). BUT; I still hold out hope for a large, open space with PLENTY OF ROOM FOR TOOLS AND SPACE TO WORK! My wife and I are in the planning stages for a new house construction and I STILL have hopes that I can get a 8k ft detached workshop/garage with a 6.5k house. After all, wife has stopped going into seizures when I talk about it and now just rolls her eyes and sighs...and in my book thats PROGRESS!
