Default Goodwood Revival 2007

My son and i had a marvellous time again at Goodwood, great atmosphere, friendly people and fantastic cars. Larry Miller sent over CSX2299 and the Willment Cobra Coupe. Racing them was Bill Murray and Sir John Whitmore in CSX2299 and Desire Wilson and Lyn St James in the Willment.
The Tourist Trophy was very exciting , we watched the race from Fordwater. Just watching Cobras , Ferraris ,Corvette Stingrays and Jaguars sliding round Madgwick corner was awesome.
Sadly the race ended after forty five minutes as Martin Stretton had a heavy shunt in a Iso Bizzarini, i hear he got away with a broken elbow and bruises.
I,ll post a few pictures now and some tomorrow.

Thanks for the great photos. CSX2127 was Hal Keck's first Cobra purchased from Hellertown Ford in Penna. Ran at Sebring in the early 60's and was the highest place finish for an indepentant entry, think he placed 9th. then sold to make room for CSX3008. Where does it live now and do know who owns it?
Watching Goodwood on TV is exciting, can't imagin attending.

Hi SS Cobra, the programme says CSX2127 was entered by Ludovic Caron and co driven with Stephane Sarrazin.

Robs Cobra is COB 6042 which spent some time in California from the late 60s until 1989 when it came 'home' (it's an 'AC' Cobra - they do exist....) It was changed from RHD to LHD and then back! Robs did several years of club racing with it but it only comes out to play occassionally. Nice to see a proper road-going Cobra mixing it with all the 'specials' with their streamlined Le Mans hardtops and trick parts. No doubt he got lapped several times, but who cares - nice weekend for a drive!

I only went on the Friday (shame on me) and I saw the Bizzarini get a smack up the rear from a Corvette - the rear panel was stoved in but the Vette was hardly marked! Will sort through my photos...

I was also introduced to Lyn St James and had a brief conversation with her (she was also down to drive a Vauxhall - don't ask...) Nice lady - any woman who races a Daytona is fine with me!!

Default Skip?

Gag!

Please, old boy. Too short a post. Really happened? OMG why?

Sorry to see Martin Stretton have such a lousy day. He is an excellent steering person and multiple champion in many many different series, so this is an irregular cock-up, fer' sure. Tho' i might not miss the Bizzar.

Next year i am buying, write it in a book. Best regards.

(Ps: Take a careful look at the Kirkham Daytona pix located elsewhere here. VERY special...)

The first time I saw Cob6042 was at Brands Hatch earlier this year,I got speaking to Rob,who did not have much luck with the car that weekend.

He said that he had not raced it for 15 years
