Just a few questions guys
Hi people.
Ok first of all, are there many variations in the body shapes of most of the UK cobra reps? Its just that looking at the pictures on this site and elsewhere, some look pretty different. How accurate is Kirkham to the original?
Also, iv started research on a cobra build project and was wondering, is it possible to use a cobra as ones standard main car. I know theres not much room in the boot and only 2 seats but that doesnt bother me much. Im thinking of using a 2.0 L V8 (for insurance and fuel economy) like the one made by cyclone power ltd so petrol shouldnt be too much of an issue. But what about stuff like how warm its going to be in the car in the winter and all that other day to day stuff? I would have one with a roof (removable).
Can you have heating in a snake?
What do you think?
thanks

A Kirkham is an extremely accurate body, you won't find a finer example. I don't think it's very practical to have a Cobra as your primary means of transportation, I love mine, but I don't think I could see myself driving it everywhere, (it would probably get stolen around here anyway). But your situation may differ. Many Cobras have heaters and some have AC.

Your asking about fuel economy and a daily driver. I think you might want to consider another car. Read rsimoes last post.

I know several people that use their cobras for daily drivers. So if you can do it I say go for it! As for gas mileage, I average 16 city and 20.8 highway with my 1965 289 bored to 331 which makes 390 HP. Better power and better gas mileage than I got with my 1966 Chevelle in college and significantly better mileage than I get with my 2001 Dodge Durango, which is my daily driver. Using the cobra as a daily driver would depend for me entirely on how long my commute was (and whether or not I could get my insurance company to go for it!).

I assume you are writing from the UK, if you are looking at a Kirkham, it would be a waste to put in a 2.0L V-8, what company makes that little of one....if you want ecomony, try the the Rover V-8's, good economy and reasonable power for their size. Have you checked out the DAX or the AK? Both really nice cars and good back up. Cruise through the UK Cobra Site and you will find heaps of nice cars there with various motor options for power and economy.

Hi people
So i read risomes post. Are they all always goint to be draughty and cold and shakey?
Even if they are put together by kirkham for example?
Also, the reason i wanted to go with kirkham is simply because i love the brushed and polished alum bodies. Does any one else mke alum bodies? I think DAX and pilgrim and most those guys make fibreglass bodies dont they?
Thanks again

As an everyday driver I would go for Fibreglass,it won't dent or tarnish like the ali would in UK (very moist there). With a good soft top and heater and very important demister there is no reason why you could'nt use it everyday. What motor is that 2.0 V8 and how much power does it make?
