Default In need of interior guy

Hi guys,

I am sure I am not the first to go thru this, but hopefully nobody else is unfortunate enough to ever have to. I built my car over two years ago. It took me about 4 months to complete the build. Then I got to the part of the outsourced parts. I sent it to get painted. After a year I was finally able to get it back. The paint job was adequate, but not worth the year wait. Now the vehicle has been held hostage by the interior guy. I have seen his work and it is show quality and better; however. it is not worth over a year wait. The other day I stopped by and he has yet to start on it. He promised me he would be on it in two weeks, but I have heard that too many times. I am looking for an interior place in the Pittsburgh/ eastern Ohio area. I am in Punxsutawney so driving is a given. If anyone has any recommendation I am all ears. Thanks

Default interior trim

Harry Jacobs, Montclair Auto Top ,195 Glenridge Ave, Montclair, NJ 973-746-6363. Far away and expensive but much faster than what you have , which is no action.

Jay, sorry I can't help you with an interior. Just wanted to ask you if you ever got an MSO from Roger. I saw a post from last year when you were trying get in touch with him about one.

I, too am building an RUCC kit, hopefully it'll be finished this month.

A year for a paint job, thats just ridiculous! Good luck with the interior, post some pics of it when it's finished.

Randy

Default Mso

Has anyone been able to get ahold of Roger lately. I also need an MSO to finish my car. I've tried calling him but don't get any replies. Is there any way to get around it if you can't get one. I'd hate to finish the car and then find out I can't get it titled.

Jay sorry to hear what you are going through.
A few years ago I had a Triumph held hostage for paint work.
The paiter told me 3 weeks tops and he held it for 8-1/2 months.
God that pist me off.... Good luck

jbridgett, I too have an RUCC car & just got it registered in Okaloma last November. They too asked for an MSO & I told them there was no MSO. I explained to them that I bought the frame, body and some miscellanous parts from RUCC & other vendors and assembled it myself. They accepted that & I got it registered.

Actually, they thought I had bought the car already built from a manufacturer, if that was true, then I would have needed an MSO.

Hopefully, that will work for you. I doubt you'll ever get any replies from Roger, seems like he's dropped out of sight! Many people have been trying to reach him for quite a while now & been unsuccessful.

How about posting some pics of your Cobra, I'd like to see it.

Randy

Yeah, I've tried getting ahold of Roger too many times to count, and he's just dissapeared. I can post some pictures, unfortunately the car is not near done. I started a business right after buying the kit and it took off. I'n just now getting back to working on the build. The car was the first designed with a 460 and IRS. I'm just glad I received all the parts. I have another RUCC about 20 miles from me that belongs to Dave Keese. I don't know if he ever got his done either.

Congrats on your business! Yep, you're lucky you have all the parts your supposed to, saves you a lot of headaches.

Good luck on the build, if you should need any help or build pics, just send me a pm. You can also go to rawilson.net, Ralph has built an RUCC kit & has a website dedicated to his build. It answers a lot of questions about the build that the so-called assembly manual doesn't cover. He also has the wiring schematic on the site too. Ralph is a great guy, he's been a big help to me during my build.

See ya,
Randy

Default Wheels

Can you tell me what wheels and offset you are running. I was looking at PS Engineering but yours sure look good on the car. I've talked to Ralph Wilson on numerous occasions also and have printed his build out and put it in a binder. He sure is a great guy and help. I've also talked to Jay on occasion and have traded war stories. I wonder how many cars Roger originally put out. He still has an IRS car up for sale on his website. It must be hard to buy if you can't get in touch with him.

Thanks for the compliment!

I'll have to check tonight for the offset (don't remember), I'll send you a pm. I can tell you, I went with only 8"wheels in the back. I really wanted 10" but I liked the wheels & thats the widest I could get. Besides, at the time, I didn't have the cash for the regular Cobra style wheels.

Ralph is a good guy, I did the same thing as you, made a binder.

Boy, do I have some war stories to tell!

Randy
