Default Rock Guards / Radiator and Oil cooler for SPF

I have been looking at the galleries to see how the different rock guards look. also called several Superformance dealers, only to find out they are $250+ for the radiator and $110+ for the oil cooler rock guards.

If you have them, Were did you get them, how much, and how are they mounted?

Got mine from the dealer at time of purchase (June 2005). $225 and $110, which included installation. Radiator screen is secured by 4 screws at tabs at the corners. Oil cooler screen mounting is a mystery. It sets loosely between the cooler and the fiberglass, and in fact can slide from side to side. I haven't examined it closely, but I suspect the cooler has to be removed to install it. Good luck!

My radiator rock guard cost me bout 40 dollars. I measured it and went to a glass shop and they made it out of screen door stuff with some bracing. It was working up until the day my friend put the radiator in the back of a truck.

Default Rock Guard

I bought my SPF used and it has a window screen with about a 1/2" frame covering the radiator. It's attached with vercro and works great. I'm sure you could go to a hardware store and have one made. I don't know about the oil cooler but you can't even see the one on the radiator and it's easy to clean.

Try Olthoff Racing. I suspect theirs are what the dealers sell, and they're a bit cheaper direct. Excellent quality and yes, the oil cooler guard is a bit tricky to install; requires drilling 4 small holes to line up with spring-loaded tabs that insert onto the holes.

Default Radiator screens

You can get some 1/4" Stainless screen at either McMaster Carr or Graingers and use some fabrication skills and get the job done for around $50
