Portrait Of Your Cobra?
Hi Guys, I've been lurking in these forums for some time but this is my first time to be a member. I just thought I'd do a survey from you guys on an business idea I was thinking about. I manage some graphic design artists and they drew up some great car illustrations from some photos I took. I thought I'd post them here to see if people are actually interested in making portraits of the cars they have built. The ones here are charcoal and pastel but you have to see our oil paintings. I hang these on my office wall...Would appreciate a quick vote if you like them!
UPDATE: Posted some more paintings in my photo gallery. Check them out!

They look great!
What would you need from u (the car to be turned into the print)?
What size would the finished print be?
What type of material would the print be done on...? (something heavy weight
I'm sure)
Any idea on cost...?

Wow that was quick! Thanks for the compliment. I can do them in sizes from 10x13 inches up to 30x40. Haven't quite figured out the prices yet - was just brainstorming on the idea - sorry but I guess the ball park figure for a 10x13 would probably be $50 bucks for charcoal, maybe 85 bucks for the pastel (colored) and maybe $130 for the oil (PLUS SHIPPING). Charcoal and pastel are just on art paper but the oil will be on canvas offcourse. But I'll tell you what, send me a couple of pictures of your build in artrigger@hotmail.com and I'll have it done up in 10x13. if you like it, you can get them, if not I'll keep them in my collection he he...
PS. This is a follow up entry (Nov. 11, 2007) Didn't want to take this entry out but please note that as of November 30, 2007 we will be dropping the 10x13 size in favor of bigger sizes to make the most out of your of shipping costs (plus they look nicer!) We're finalizing our shipping inclusive prices and I will post it in CC soon. Thanks!

I would be interested. Just need to wait until spring to take some pictures.
Are you interested in doing some other vehicles? I'm a member of another forum for the Dodge SRT/10 Ram Pickups, and I'm sure some of them would love to have this done. If so, let me know and I will post a link.

I'd like to discuss with you a proposal. I see from your user ID you are in TN, correct? Given the distance, the proposal would involve some "conceptual sketches" based on my inputs. Please e-mail me (not IM) through my forum ID above so that I can share with you this concept.
Thanks,
-Dean

Silverback51, Yes that would be great. Love trucks! The more customized the better I also have a couple of other cars in my collection, I'll post them here after I get done with some of the work for our members..

This thread deserves a bump. Dustin is great to work with and this staff does some incredible work (and at reasonable prices for original artwork).

Thanks!
Thank you to everyone for the kind words. We are touched by the trust that some of you have extended to us and are inspired by the comments posted in this forum. We are looking to build a website to accommodate orders on a more commercial scale but this will need a little bit more patience.
In the meantime, I will build a gallery here in Club Cobra so that you guys can be updated with our latest artwork. Watch out for it in the next couple of days. I'm looking forward to receiving more pictures that we can paint!
All the best.
Dustin

More Completed Works
Hey Guys,
Just posted some new works in my gallery. Just click on the camera icon under my name. The complete price list is also there. Will be completing a couple more this week and will post those as well. Funny thing about the Club Cobra Forum is that I get more requests for non Cobra Cars
Looking forward to receiving more pictures. Live Fast and Ride Free!
