Default Is there a market for a $7000 Cobra kit?

How a bout a Mark 4 kit: Bare frame, with the body, $7000, think it would sell?

Several kits here that can be had as frame and body only - you supply the rest

I think that one of them is about that level (adjusted for the [not so recent] exchange rate) and seems to be relatively popular.

Many of the kit suppliers then list the car models etc for suspension and so on - a bit like FF minus.

I don't know. B & B has one for $7150. Not that unusual of a price. Just my 2 cents.

What suspension could be added to the slabside? How accurate to an original body?

Bruce,
I thought you sold your molds to FFR. Are you still building on your own?

Mr Bruce,

There is a CSX4000 car (body & Frame) for sale on craigs list for $6000. It has even been spoken about on this site. If it does not sell at 6k I would think 7k would not have the desired market appeal.

FFR didn't sign a non-compete? I figured they were at least that savoy.

I have always felt there needs to be more Slabside variations to choose from. Even KMS has started in that direction with the comp body. There are too many 427 cars available at great pricing, even full roller glass CSX cars are now selling at 49k. If they up the production or drop $ further it will impact SPF, Mr Bolik, ERA, and all other quality kits.

Supply and demand FFR & SPF has the 427 body locked up in my opinion. Check ebay, there has to be more FFR and SPF's for sale than anything else. As the market gets softer more will feel the sqeeze. Slabside variations are only available from SAI or JCF in glass. KMS has metal offerings however sell the second house cause they are not really affordable to the masses.

I sound like a broken record right!

I sold molds to fit the F5 frame to F5. I have retained the exact molds from 2575. I have NO non compete agreement with F5. I have a 3" round tube frame design that uses modern suspension.

Guys,

Mr, Bruce will do better than Thunder Carriages! For replica correctness that price would be in the ballpark.

I'm Game! Lets see pics! Is the gallery pics of the right "Correct" body or the adjusted body for F5?

Exclamation

How about a $3995.00 kit, why not $2995.00 or better yet, frame tubes (unwelded and a roll of FRP cloth) for $995.00?

Remember, there is a neverending supply of immortal glassy eyed people who see that kit, that price and picture themselves cruising down the road with people waving at them. And then reality strikes and these are the "semi-completed" cars you see advertised for "less than cost of kit".

The reality of constructing, fabricating and sourcing the parts needed to reach the infamous "KIT CAR 90%" complete stage (where it runs but the doors don't fit, the seats are loose, the fuel filler leaks, etc) is staggering.................and the last 10% costs as much as the first 90%!

I would say it depends upon your goal, selling kits at a profit or selling kits that actually will be screwed together!
