People say we don't have seasons in Southern California. And I say sure we do: Spring, Summer, Wildfire and Mud Slide.

If we have another winter that produces a thimbleful of rain, all the wisecracks about the demise of California will be at the hands of fire - not earthquakes.
It's clear today here in Glendale (where we've mercifully been spared so far), but it's 4th of July hot & still as a crypt.
This is not my favorite time of year.

Bonsall was put on the mandatory evacuation list last night. I am in Fallbrook (About 4 miles from Bonsall) and am also supposed to be out of here but there is nothing burning near me at this time so I am not leaving until there is a real problem.

The smoke was really bad yesterday with visibility down to a 100 yards or so but today is quite a bit better.

There are many fire helicopters flying all about and I have heard that they have over 800 fire fighters on this fire.

With any luck it will be contained soon.
