When stroker motors go bad, conclusion.
Just a quick thank you for the support from all the fellow Cobra enthusiests...
I finally got my car back on the road last night after squeezing the wallet for a few $$. I decided and installed the following combination on what should be a great weekend warrior with pleanty of power, reliability and runs on pump gas...
Replaced both AFR 205 heads with same
Replaced the 12.5:1 JR with 10:1 Probe (Forged)
Replaced the Comp Cam 35-781-9 with Comp Cam 35-772-8 (XR286)
Had the cyliners honed all new bearings and new rings
Most noticible difference is that I can actually use 5th gear under 3K and the motor seems quite happy running around town at lower RPM's than previous.
Looks like I have almost the identical setup as was recently tested in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, they got 550hp from their stroker,I'm assuming mine has to be real close to the same...

I followed the entire (previous) thread. I am glad to hear that you have found a solution and that everything seems to be working well.

I WILL be at the round up.... I will try and get 400 -500 miles on it over the next few days... So far seems to be running good with no leaks or issues...
