Have I really Used this Much Disk Space Here at CC?
Tried to upload a measly picture of an oil decal and was bounced due to disk space usage. It gave me the following disk stats for my account. Have I really used that much disk space or is there another problem?
Your Username patrickt
Disk space allowed on your account: 2,000,000kb (2,048,000,000 bytes)
Disk space used on your account: 24,385,330kb (24385330 bytes)
Disk space remaining for your account: 1,976,186kb (2023614670 bytes)

Just how large was that picture. According to what the print out shows you still have about 2GB of space left. That must be one huge picture.

The text in that message is a bit screwed up.... the "kb" suffix should not be there
..but this looks correct:
Disk space used on your account: ... (24385330 bytes)
You have about 24 meg of pictures in your Gallery.
I do see this posted on the upload page.....
200kb file size limit.
How big is the pic you are trying to upload?

It was pretty darn small, like 73k small. Must be a configuration problem. It says I've used 24,385,330kb which would be way, way over the limit, even though it also says that I have 1,976,186kb remaining.

NO...that is not the problem. Don't delete any files. 24 meg is not a lot at all.
2 gig, now that's a lot.
Hang loose for a day, we'll check it out...you too, ZOERA

Wow, I had the settings really dorked up (think this was leftover from the recent tinkering I did to try and fix the gallery when it was down).
24mb is not a lot except when you're talking about thousands of members updloading a gazillion pics. I used to have it limited to 3 mb or something like that for registered members and something a lot more than that for contributing members. Currently set at 5mb and 50mb respectively.

Thanks, Brent....
patrickt, when I went thru your Gallery files... a lot of your pictures are ~500k each...that is unnecessarily large.
Try a resizer to bring them down to 80-100k max and you will get a lot more up there and still stay within quota.

I thought I'd check mine .... and I got the message
We're sorry, but you currently are over your quota for allowed disk space.
Please remove images from your gallery to free up more space.
Should I start deleting pics?
