The Maltese Cobra, take 2
See.... http://www.pistonheads.com/news/defa...?storyId=17208
Two parts Ford "Shelby Cobra Concept" and one part photoshop.
And just how is "AC" involved....or not?
And "Racer X"? Wasn't that on Speed Racer? Does it come with a monkey?
Rick

The "monkey" refers to Chim-Chim, the pet monkey in Speed Racer, nothing more. I don't even know if there ARE monkeys on Malta?

Besides, Silverbacks (Gorilla,Gorilla) are PRIMATES, not monkeys!

Wow, an overpriced Viper replica! No sweat though, it'll no doubt be in "the registry" - hell, everything else is, why not this?

Uh-uh, no way. If we start putting Maltese Cobras in the registry, then we'll naturally have to include the Maltese Falcons as well. That will lead to a discussion of which ones are allowed in, such as - do we just include the 289/ 260 Falcons, or do we allow the 200 cubic-inch 6-cylinder ones in as well? Soon, the entire discussion will degenerate into a sorry verbal assault from the 200 cubic-inch camp against the 170 cubic-inch guys, vainly trying to establish some kind of irrelevant pecking order. Before you know it, there will be a clamor over what kind of Maltese Falcon is real, and what is not. That will open the floodgates of nonsense to the point that there will not be enough soda and popcorn for the audience, and everyone will get testy. Uh, not that this ever happens here at Club Cobra. But maybe it could...?

I think it's a pretty good looking concept. I little too much Porche in the nose, but otherwise a good version of a "moderized" Cobra.
And that motor is the current Z06 427ci engine. If they can make this car more than 500lbs lighter than a Z06, I couldn't even imagine the accelleration.

The power train choice is the one favored by the "down under boys", for emmision rules I believe. But 550 -600 big block HP by whomever is plenty.

Back in school at I.U. for Biotechnology and English Lit....I have no idea why except for the challenge.
The boss and I went to Dallas to pick up another winter sorting project (a 1987 MB 560 sel). The 1100 mile return trip was a great get away but I have to tell you, those folks in Arkansas are "unique" !

This, ah, new rendition, looks a bit like that odd ball discussed several times over with the German plates on it...makes even my old beater look good....and easy on those glorious old 170's, one of them got me through college on the cheap.
