CSX3294 and CSX3060 (completion car) are on the block at the Barrett Jackson auction this January 12-20th as well. Couple that with a few "CS owned" (aka: part of his personal collection) also rumored to be on the block during the auction (I know of at least two of his personal cars listed) that same week......Of course there are some interesting "Unique" related cars, trucks, tow vehicles, and trailers also listed in a wholesale fashion which makes me wonder just who's cars these really are and how they are all connected within the auction and promotional materials....

CSX2011 is sporting dual four barrels, I would think it wasn't raced with that setup. Dual fours are notorius for flooding under hard cornering. The extra length of a single 'center pivot float' (Le Mans float some call them) won't allow for dual fours placed back to back.

Looks like the red, white and blue paint job I saw at VIR was redone.
I like the new colors, but I wonder if the red, white and blue is how the car was originally raced.

Any chance you have some detailed photos of how the front driving lights are mounted? The Bracket?
Thanks

Cobra Dual Quads
I don't think the "flooding" issue is nearly that bad on the small-block Cobra with the low-rise Cobra intake with the Carter carbs. I used to autocross my GT350 with that set-up regularly (and a few open tracks at Nelson's Ledges) and I don't recall ever getting into those kinds of problems. (or maybe I just wasn't running hard enough?)
regards,
Jeff

I agree, I ran a set on my '65 HI-PO Mustang and never had any issues. I have also run some Holley 2-4 set ups and they tend to be more finicky than the Carters ,probably the metering rods and fine adjustments that don't require carb disassembly . I'm not sure what the reasoning for the switch to Holeys, but it may have been the limited size choices at the time. I think the Carters were only about 500cfm at the time and you could get Holleys as big as 780..

Any engine bay photos?
Do any of you have an engine bay photos of this car? I am trying to collect as many of the original cobras as possible, especially the early ones, which are all different. Thank you! Bob

All,
Thanks for your interest in CSX2011. We sold it in January 2007. Since then it has gone through a simple cleanup and race prep (they took it a little further than we did in 2005/2006).
I will be attending the auction and talking to interested persons with camera in hand. So, give me a week or two and a couple of reminders and I will get a few pictures posted.
If there are specific photo's / info requested please let me know!
Best regards,
Michael West

Wow,
That is a beautiful pic post restoration. I very much prefer the single color accent versus the blue and red that I saw at SAAC 31.

I'd be curious as to why they added a "hidden" fuel cell instead of refurbishing the original long range gas tank. I'd also be curious as to what modifications to the chassis they had to make to install said fuel cell.

CSX2011 Sells for $1,575,000
All,
It was a great event. Well put together and lots of great cars. It looked like most were hitting their sales points. CSX2011 had a bar built around it for the gala the night prior. There were a lot of people waiting for it to be sold. Once it was, many people left. It went for $1,575,000. My guess is they were shooting for $1.6. A few pictures attached. Let me know if you want more. I will post in Kodak or other as time permits.
Michael
