Default "Sell it now motors ?"

Im trying to sell my mustang and I got a call from someone at a company called "sell it now motors". It sounded like a decent set up where they advertise the car and I pay them a fee etc. I know some of these companies have bad reputations. I could not find anything really negative about them but was interestd to know if any of you guys had heard of them or used them?

If you pay the fee AFTER you recieve the wire transfer of funds it is probably OK.

Nope, no such luck, pay before, $300.00. It seems to be a pretty big outfit. They have a lot of cars on their site but I am wary of paying first even if there is a money back gaurantee.

Put adds online at some Mustang sites.

Also use Hemmings and put an ad in the Bible. Also the AutoTrader mags are good.

Do not pay anyone $300 for an ad. Way too much money.

I have tried the mutang sites but they are just a bunch of kids who want to pay you about a 5th of what it is worth. Auto trader is the next stop.

So what have you got?

As for paying in advance, no matter how slick their site, you never know just who paid and who did not.

Pass!

If you have some sort of exotic vehicle that requires you to advertise nationwide, then they might be a good choice. Their sales people peruse the local "for sale" ads and call everyone to try and sell their service. I had a run of the mill 350Z a couple of years ago and got a call from one of these guys promising to sell my car faster and for 10-20% more than I was asking, all for "only $400". I told him that I would give him the 10-20% additional that I got AFTER they sold the car for me (would have amounted to ove $1,000). He hung up.

Hmmmmm, go figure!

If you have a normal vehicle, you will want to attract local buyers first.

Auto Trader always a good source.

www.craigslist.com is FREE, and you can advertise by region. I use it a lot when I'm searching for something, for it sorts the ads down to my search criteria.

Did I mention it's free?

A similar thing happened to me but it was in person. I was at a gas station filling up the Cobra and my 11 yo daughter is sitting passenger. This tall slender brunette approaches me and asks me if I want to sell my car and then gives me this pitch..."Tomorrow and the next day we are having a photo shoot down in malibu of exotic cars. Cars and bikini clad models for an intrnational sales promotion. Ask whatever you want for the car because some shiek in the middle east just might have to have it. She suggests 100k - 200k or whatever". She gave me a flier with her phone number and that was that. Yes there was a fee but I forget what it was. I tell you I did think about it but realized that something too good to be true probably was...end of story.

I would advertize it the cheapest method possible.. I am sure you know that financing a new car is easier than a used one thus taking some buyers out of your market. new 2007 Mustang Gt coupe can be bought for around $23,000 with a decent rate. You just need to find some one who appreciates your car.. Good luck with your sale.

That's good...But it would be better if you've found positive things about them. I would be suspicious unless you know of people with cars that have been sold.... and not just theirs.

That was my thinking as well. I figured if it was legit or a scam someone on this board would know it.

List it on Craigslist.org it is free. My daughter sold her Saab in about three days.

Going price for an 01 may be considerably lower than you are asking. Good luck with your sale.

Good luck.
