Getting in and out of your car
OK,what is the best way to do this. I've got getting in down pretty well. Right hand on roll-bar. Step in with left foot, followed by right (still standing). Sit down, and extend feet. The real question is how do I get out. I can't seem to do this gracefully with getting my legs all over the pipes. Any suggestions?

Open door, swivel sideways, put right leg out of car on ground over pipe, put right hand on seat back and left on top of open door, lean out of car and push yourself out using left leg on floor mat, right hand on seat back and light pressure on open door with left hand.
Reverse this for left hand drive cars.
If this fails, buy a vette!

ZTARUM;
Sounds like you have the driver's procedure figured out. You'll find that keeping your passengers from getting burned is very important, too. I wrote some instructions for my wife and I to use (depending on which of us were taking a passenger for a ride). If you're interested, the instructions I came up with were:
Before the ride, ask to passenger if they have ever touched a steam iron on high (the answer is always "YES") -- explain very clearly that the side pipes get that hot.
Getting In
Remove all jewelry, watches, or brass knuckles (for wife’s family members) from your right hand and arm that have the capacity to scratch paint (pretty much anything metal).
Step into the car with one foot at a time while holding on to the back of the passenger seat. Do not touch the windshield or lean on the door getting in. Once both feet are in the car, in front of the seat, face the windshield and slide down into the seat.
Fasten belts at that time – driver will assist you to make sure that your harness belts are properly adjusted and that you are secure.
Getting Out
Don't fling the harness/belts off...metal buckles will wreck the paint! If you are not sure how to work the harness release, the driver will assist you.
Never try getting out of the car from a sitting position. Stand up on the floor by lifting yourself up from the back of the seat. Holding on to the seat back with your left hand, step out with one foot at a time while paying close attention to the red-hot side pipe. Do not touch the windshield or lean on the door getting out.
Don’t slam the door- close it using the inside latch, or leave it for the driver to close.

Hope this helps. NONE of us want to have a passenger burned by those hot pipes. I've never had a first or second time passenger that wasn't absolutely blown away by a cobra ride -- they might not be thinking clearly when they exit the car. That's why it's important that we (lucky cobra owner/operators) keep them safe.

Stand up withnboth feet on floor, with door open. Now step out with left leg well beyond side pipe. Now the other leg. Its the exact opposite of getting in the car.

I support myself on the transmission tunnel with one hand ,the other on the body just above the door on the fender and push myself up and then extract my legs.( I WOULD'NT LEAN ON THE DOOR,I HAVE SEEN TOO MANY BROKEN) I have even had steeriing wheel broken by grabbing that to get out.

Getting in, not so bad, extracting oneself from the vehicle (without snake bite), tricky!

BDHE...well put. Passengers should be required to read and then be tested on your instructions. Maybe a multible choice test like getting a driver's license.
I have a "know it all" brother in law who I took for a little ride...he lives out of town. Before I could help him into the car he was sitting there ready to go, now I was wondering how he got in so fast. My doors aren't the traditional latch system. I have explain to everyone how to open them. He proceeded to explain you don't need to use the doors in cars like this you just support yourself by the windsheild and hop over...errrr no I said!!! Don't touch the windsheild!!!! Upon exiting the same thing. Hand prints on the glass to prove it too. No mo rides fo him.
Drivers must help passengers get around the pipes. Very dangerous area when HOT.

I broke the back of the seat on my Excalibur by using it for a leverage point to enter/exit. The fiberglass cracked where the seat back attached to the seat bottom. I can for sure seeing that happen to a windshield frame. These cars are 'delicate' in so many ways.
Vanoochka, I'm still chuckling over your seat extraction method, yeah, that should do the trick!
