Fly out and drive it back. I just flew out on Wed and drove back my new daily driver from Kansas City to FL.
Congrats on the car, and make you sure bring it here for me to pump it up for you .

Thanks I was going to wait but when I saw the color combo..well thats all it took.. This is the only one they get for 2008 at this dealership=small town.. I am pretty sure the Black backdraft will be sold soon... that was for my wife to see if not I am sure the 1st person who actually wants a Black one then sees it will buy it, it is just super clean even under the car.

Sal the last time I drove in snow-ice was way to long ago..I think I forgot how.. everyboby would be saying whats that idiot doing donuts for at 80 mph while i'am filing my britches up.. plus the junk on the roads I am spoiled by living here since 1978-no ice-snow..only snow birds and they can be shot

Congrats on the new toy! I traded in my ERA last year for an '07 GT500 and I absolutely love the car! I miss my cobra but I'll have another one some day.
If you end up driving it home I might see you on the road here in Ohio, there's not TOO much snow on the ground now, only a couple of inches right now.
Enjoy the new ride!

Very nice! I actually like the reverse of your color combo best with the red on black. But she's purty!
Unless hte car is in upper MI. I'd drive it. The highways will be dry, you'll be fine! And you'll get the break in done and over with! haha

I say fly up and drive it home. I did the same in Dec. for my 08 GT500. GREAT fun. Couldn't keep it under 80. Watch it, 120MPH comes up fast and is just to easy to do. Don't want to give those troopers any reason to light you up.
Enjoy the new toy.

I was thinking about flying up but with the price of fuel a little worried about gas mileage on the long trip home One problem I have is getting away from home for more than 1 day thats why I have not been able to go to Gainesville Florida track events, etc.. its about 1200 miles away I don't think I can drive straight thru anymore like I did when I was younger so it would be a minimum of 2 days any way you look at it.. and then if I drove I should stop in Indy and see some relatives, etc.. there goes another day or so.. if I could I would ...complicated life I have..

congrats. You will LOVE it! Great fun car, watch out for speeding; it sneaks up on you pretty fast. (going faster)
I think you should drive it home. Yeah, it's a LONG WAY from MI to FL, but..... take the 3-4 days for yourself, (I'm sure you deserve a minivacation) and just point it south east.
My only concern would be the snow/ice in parking lots, etc. The hiways may be clear but the side roads, parking lots would be messy. But.... when you get home, you'll have plenty of time to get under it and tidy it up!
Not many people take the time to really have fun with their cars. We can't really 'trust' our Cobra's to make a cross country trip (i know, several have, but most wouldn't) and what better time than in a new car, ready for the road???!!!!
Anyway, good luck and post pics once you do get it home- whether by transport or cruisin'!!!
k
nice color combo... but i'm still a bit partial to white/blue.
ps. you're worried about fuel costs??? uhoh....... That car isn't exactly fuel efficient. I can watch the gauge going down on a 'road trip'. In fact, I'm heading to Texas A&M in a few weeks and DEFINITELY taking the 500! (hope it isn't storming or anything, then i won't take it )
If you are concerned about fuel costs now..... just wait. ugh!

I was joking about the fuel costs.. Although a lot of people go look at a luxury car then complain about the mileage..
I have had some bystanders ask me what kind of mileage I get on the Cobra.. I tell them excellent the gauge hardly moves until I start er up...

The gauge on the 500 moves about half as fast as the Cobra. So.... i guess in that regard it would be considered 'efficient'.
15 mpg is 'good', right????
have fun, stay safe!!!
