What is this, CSI Cobra?

Based on one thumnail picture, I don't think anyone on the planet has a chance of identifying the car.

Edit...take that back, more evidence from the scene of the crime....

Geez, you'd think they could pop the hood and shoot a pic of the engine, also the interior, gauges, etc. Pretty hard to tell the make from what you show.

Hope you have a good glass man. Other option is to search for a good body and replace it. There usually is a mfg name plate in the engine compartment that may give you a clue of it's make. If you find a number, you can contact the mfg and they'll tell you what you need to know if they're still in business. If not, contact this forum. Somebody here will be able to help.

From those pictures, it's almost impossible to tell much. You're either pretty gutsy or hooked on Cobra's or both.

Good luck.

Paul

Round tube or square tube frame? Any pictures of the firewall and frame rails? What about a shot of the trunk, dash, and rear passenger compartment bulkhead? What type of suspension does it have front and rear?

Looks like there are several more entry points for you to consider with that Cobra.

Enjoy your new project.

I see it has bolt on wheels and it looks like the Mustang II strut rod type front suspension, also noticed the doors upholstered inside. Those are all good clues, maybe early FFR?? Check out WTM442's very comprehensive manufacturers list and see if that gives any crossovers on the clues you have. Keep researching and good luck with the project. Can you tell us how much you got it for? Keep us posted on how it works out, I hope the gamble pays off for you and you can always find where to get whatever you need for it from here. Good on ya!

we thought we would get it for 6-8k but the last day of the auction, a bidder from new jersey (where the car is ) started bidding real heavy on it (which makes me think there is more to the car)..long story short i will have alomost 14k in it. and i have no idea what it even is

Gutsy, but could work out. Take some more pictures after you get the car and keep us in the loop.

Seems to be something written on the trunk. Perhaps "T??? Barn". Could that be a dealer name?

FFRs don't have a rolled cockpit edge, or a single square taillight.

Your pal,

Default Toy Barn?

The logo on the trunk looks like Toy Barn to me. They have a similar looking car on their home webpage.

Getting a replacement body is costly. First, as others have stated, find the manufacture. Then go to that manufacture and I would get the whole car. I would put money on there are A LOT of stress cracks all over the car. It's hard to keep all those cracks from reappearing miles down the road! Glass guy's are especially hard to find! All the ones I found wouldn't touch an older car, especially a Cobra with NO straight lines! I've seen these wrecks before and fiberglass cracks where it's attached. If you try to get another manufactures body to work there is bound to be many more problems too. I believe a typical body will set you back at least $2500 to $3000. Sometimes the doors, trunk lid, and hood are extra and above that cost! Then factor a decent paint job at $4000 to $5000. I have seen a Super performance that was this badly damaged fixed but I believe it was over $7000 with paint and all. This road your about to go down is a tough one, I know! Good Luck.
