Pretty wild! I think I'd have pooped my pants after I landed.

Mine would have been pretty messy long before the landing.
I wish I had a video of my F-4 trailing 100 feet of flame on take off. It was dumping fuel into the engine bay through a 3 inch fuel line that came apart under 3000 lbs. of pressure. Didn't mess the shorts though.

You must've looked like an SR71 on take-off! How'd you get out of that mess?

My brother flew the last of the active duty F4Es, before transitioning to the F15E, and still talks fondly about it.

Tom, had not seen this before; thanks.

Reminds me of time spent with 18TFW/313AD on Okinawa many years ago.

Got the thing stopped and ground egressed then sat in the fire chief's car and watched some incredibly brave fire fighters put the fire out. The plane never flew again but sits proudly as a static display near the front gate to the base.

One just recently plopped in the ocean after being put back into service after the forward section separated from the rest of the fuselage.

Cool videos. For those that may be doubting the Eagle just remember that as of 2007, the F-15 in all air forces has an air-to-air combined kill record of 104 kills to 0 losses in air combat (one of those is my brother's). That's right 104 to zip baby! No other fighter in history has racked up a kill record like that. And at this point that puppy is getting old!

The famous One Wing F-15 is an Israeli airplane that suffered a mid air, back around 1983 or 1984. I was working on the F-15 project at the time, and I can tell you we were pretty surprised, too.

I expect the pilot had his focus concentrated due to the prospect of a crash amongst Arabs that wanted to kill him.

The cause of the crash of the F-15 in Hawaii last week has not been determined or reported. The airplane shown in the USAF video is a Missouri National Guard airplane that crashed in November.

Since then, the fleet has been inspected and all returned to service except for 9 airplanes with defects similar to those of the lost airplane.

I can add a link to the USAF accident report if anyone is interested.
